I’ve had this hibiscus shrub for a while, and getting it to bloom again has been a whole experiment.

Three different fertilizers later, I’m finally starting to see what it responds to.
It didn’t matter what the labels said or what advice I tried from others growing this variety. I had no choice but to focus on what works for this one I have!!

I thought about that for me….

We can spend a lot of time assuming that if something isn’t growing, producing, opening up, or moving forward, we just need to try harder. Sometimes that’s not it at all. The problem could be the conditions or type of nourishment the thing or relationship is receiving. The timing or season we’re in could be a factor and whether what we’re giving is actually what’s needed…

The hibiscus didn’t need me to be frustrated with it. It needed me to keep paying attention.

There are some truths that just can’t be denied. If you want to see a harvest later, you must plant in anticipation right now. What is coming ahead that we need to prepare for? Thinking broader for the future good and not so good moments in life.

Spoiler alert: The yield in life is ALWAYS bigger than what you planted!
