Our Story

The Great River Guitar Show is a two day event. September 7-8 of 2019 at the Minnesota State College Southeast in Red Wing Minnesota. Regional luthiers as well as renowned luthiers from across the country will be presenting their hand made acoustic guitars, archtop guitars, electric guitars, basses, mandolins, banjos, basses and ukuleles and hand made amplifiers.

Demonstration performances take place all day for both days and will include some of the best players around. Phil Heywood and Tim Sparks are both national finger style guitar champions of the Walnut Valley competitions. Mike Cramer is an Upper Midwest Flatpicking Champion and he has just won first place in the Roots Music Duet Competition. Adam Bjoraker is a first place winner in the finger style competition at the Wilson Center for the Arts guitar competition. Sam Breckenridge has twice been a featured artist on Candyrat Records video channel. These are just some examples of the talent that we had in 2016.

There will also be vendors with their guitar related products and services as well as players master classes with some great musicians, a film by Drew Roller called “Acoustic Uprising”, a celebrity guest speaker, food trucks, open jams, and seminars about new products. Saturday evening concerts will take place at the historic Sheldon Theatre featuring Tim Sparks, Pat Donohue and Dean Magraw. On Sunday September 8th will be an outdoor concert at the Harbor featuring Annie Mack.
