Red Wing Area Senior Center (Pier 55) is in need of some volunteers to help at the front desk of the senior center helping folks sign up for classes and answering the phone. We also could use help at Annadee’s Thrift Shop helping with stocking and assisting customers. Our faith in fellow humans has been restored. If you’ve been following the missing light tower story from the Field Of Honor, we have fantastic news.

The guys/gals over at Public Works were taking down their part of the Field Of Honor and that left only the light tower remaining in the huge field all by itself. They were concerned for its safety and security, so they hitched it up and drove it to fire station #2 and asked the fire team to babysit the tower until the rental company was ready to pick it up.

It was a wonderful gesture for them to be concerned about the tower and for Fire to safeguard it. The good deed was just never mentioned to anyone.

But all is good. No theft, no loss. No harm, no foul.

Thank you Red Wing Public Works and Red Wing Fire. You’re why this is a great city.
