My family and I have burned Santa Rosa Candles in our home since I was a little kid. They're the most superb candle and make the perfect gift. Their distinctive glow comes from the natural crystallized amber that is melted into the wax as it's made which give a gorgeous glow of light to any room. Prune those hydrangeas for big beautiful blooms! Here’s the deal: different hydrangea have different rules to pruning. If you have a “panicle” variety, like these Limelight hydrangea shown here in this video, you should prune them back to a third of their height - YES, even if it’s only been one season. Start training them to have a strong, sturdy base asap or else it will grow weak and you’ll get spindly plants. Another common family of hydrangea are the marcophylla varieties (Big Leaf, Endless Summer, generally the blue or pink blooming varieties). These only need to be dead headed and not fully cut back. Mimosa anyone?! Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all about our locally grown, gorgeous flowers, but this mimosa acacia grown in California is such a treat to bring in during these dark winter months. This is an Australian native and unfortunately it’s too cold to grow this in NY. We’ll have straight bundles of this in case you’re looking for a bright, sunny treat this week. Send us a DM.
