Here is a Frantic Friday post to take the place of the throwback we missed yesterday. Enjoy a few updated pictures of the Red Rock Monument, proudly displayed in front of the Red Bluff Round-Up Museum and Office. The original chute gate pictured in the iconic Linda Rosser photo of Lane Frost and Red Rock at Red Bluff on 4/17/88 is in place, the Major Donator's Monument is ready to receive the special plaques, and landscaping is getting scheduled. We invite you to stop by and visit the Red Bluff Round-Up Museum and take a picture in front of the historical bucking chute. Here's a little trivia. Did you know the picture that Mrs. Rosser took on April 17, 1988 of the historic ride is displayed on Lane's headstone located at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK

Here is a special throwback for a very special person and part of the Red Bluff Round-Up Family. He is definitely a legend not only at the Round-Up but the entire Rodeo Business. You may recognize the face and the mustache, but you will definitely recognize the voice. Mr. Bob Tallman, is a Hall of Fame Announcer and in 2026, we made him #8, with the likes of Cotton Rosser #1 and Red Rock #7 in the Red Bluff Round-Up HOF. We sure hope to see and hear Bobby T back at the Frank Moore Arena in 2027.

Hopefully you saw her during the special anniversary party at Reynolds Ranch & Farm Supplyโ€”Help us wish this fabulous woman a very Happy Birthday ๐ŸŽ‰

Joan Growney is a member of the Red Bluff Round-Up Museum Board and an active member of Tehama County.

There is no one who knows the ropes behind the action better than this woman. She has a heart for the rodeo life, the contestants, and her community.

When sheโ€™s not focused on promoting the Red Bluff Round-Up Museum and itsโ€™ history, Joan is advocating for another passion of hersโ€” the beef industry and agriculture. She is president of the Tehama County Cattlewomen. Whether itโ€™s raising money for scholarships or education and beef promotion, Joan truly enjoys giving back to the next generation.

Happy Birthday, Joan.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Clements in October.

The Red Bluff Round-Up attended the donor reception at the newly completed Sierra Pacific Industries Regional Cancer Center. We are proud of our commitment to Tehama County and our Communities here in the North State. This newly built facility will provide state of the art services in a "One Stop Shop" for those battling cancer and the effects of cancer treatments. We are proud to call True Northern California home and we are equally proud to lock arms with the Emerson Family and their Sierra Pacific Foundation, as well as the McConnell Foundation and the hundreds of other Family and Friends who have supported the Dignity Health and Mercy Foundation North vision of bringing such an amazing facility to our homes. Thank you all for your support.

This week's throwback Thursday takes us back to 1971. Back in the day, before social media and the internet a group of Businessmen would form a caravan and drive up and down the Sacramento Valley to promote the Round-Up. There was no "Monkey Business" going on when the group showed up in your town, even in Woodland, CA. In 1971, we saw the likes of Chuck Henson protecting the bull riders. He was selected to protect the contestants at the 1971 National Finals, maybe he got the nod after his performance in Red Bluff that year. We also got to see the great Quien Sabe aka Queen Sabe with Jim Erickson on her back. This was another historic ride at the Round-Up. Finally, here is a picture of the Wild Horse Race, or Team Saddle Bronc, do you recognize a few of the Owens' Family Members.

Well how about a Manic Monday post since we missed the throwback last Thursday. Take a look at some of these awesome pictures from 1965, can't believe that this was over 60 years ago. We will be celebrating 106 years in 2027, however, in 1965 we still put on one of the greatest rodeos and the tradition continues to buck proud in Tehama County and at the Red Bluff Round-Up. The first pic is of the program and take a look at the money up for grabs. Second pic is of the Hall of Fame Bucking Horse "War Paint" of the Christensen Brothers Rodeo Company. Picture number 3 is of downtown, do recognize a few of the iconic buildings and businesses. And finally here is a picture of the Cowboy Golf Tournament winner, seems a little to sober if you know what I mean.
