Look at these two love 🐦’s!

Katie & PJ knew they wanted to make their wedding happen, but not in the most traditional of ways. They settled on an intimate day, just meant for them and their closest family members and a few friends. They knew they wanted the sand under their feet and eachother, & really- what more could you ask for!?

These types of weddings make my heart happy because they’re outside the box and truly capture what’s most important about the day- your significant other. At the end of the day, that’s the reason why we throw these lavish parties - to be with the one you love most dear.

I’m so excited to unveil all the weddings that I have coming up this & next year to you all - big & small and designed just for them🤍

This. This moment. This is why I do what I do.

Pulling a page from my own wedding story book today because it’s important to share from my own experiences. Being a wedding planner is a lot Ike being a doctor - we make the worst “patients” or, clients. I thought I could do it all - that I could take everything on myself and not hire anyone to help me...

1️⃣ the 2 breakdowns I had that week over things not being done
2️⃣ The unbelievable stress that my job handed me that week, causing me to cry about 5 times and nothing get the things I needed to done
3️⃣ The shuttle busses that I booked not showing up for my 125 guests at the hotel, causing them to have to get rides to my venue
4️⃣ The fact that I did not get to set foot in my cocktail hour because I thought my timeline was “just fine”
5️⃣ Family drama that caused me to think about other people’s needs on my wedding day

Unfortunately, I am not the first bride and I certainly will not be the last to have this type of situation happen. Your wedding should be one of the most important days of your life thus far, so please think to yourself while planning your budget about the price it will cost you to have a day of just pure joy. I can’t tell you the amount of perspective clients that tell me after their wedding “we should have just hired you.”

One question I frequently get asked is
“So, what is it that a wedding planner actually does?” ..... how much time do you have?

Being a wedding planner means I am literally orchestrating the entire event, from finding the perfect vendors and doing logistics with them to really making sure that my clients vision is perfectly executed. It means helping my couple to communicate to their family and friends that their wedding is about the them!

I am the couple’s advocate. I help them to find their voice and be their sounding board- even when they think they can’t speak up. I am their confidant, their friend and their warrior.

I hold dresses, hands, my iPad, my emergency kit, their hearts and more in my hand. I carry the weight that is the stress that their wedding will be perfect. Essentially, it’s too much to even describe, but I’m trying here.

In the coming weeks wedding season will begin to pick up and honestly, I don’t know whether to smile, cry, dance, get coffee or do all of the above! I can’t wait to show you all what my amazing couples have planned for wedding season. It’s gonna be a good one! 🤍🍾

It’s official- drumroll please🥁

Your girl is now an officially certified Wedding & Event Planner & Design Expert. In this industry- the biggest learning moments come from experience. & While I’ve had a lot of it being in the industry for almost a decade and having planned many successful events, it’s nice to know that I now have a little something extra to show my clients that I take this job very seriously (if that wasn’t already clear enough😉).

I wanted to come on to let you know that my 2021 dates are getting packed!

I’ve been so blessed since my launch to have the pleasure of booking many amazing couples and people planning extraordinary events- but while I’d love to work with each & every one of you, I can only do so many this year!

There are tons of events that have been rescheduled due to Covid- whether that be bridal showers, baby showers, birthday celebrations, holidays, etc. However, the 🌎 has changed and evolved and now we can celebrate again - virtually!

I’ll admit- at first I was skeptical as to how a virtual celebration would be in comparison to the joy we all feel when being together with loved ones. But I have to say, sometimes it’s even more fun! You can play games, see your friends & family, enjoy drinks and food - from the comfort and safety of your own home! You can now even wear sweats to the party!

There are tons of benefits to taking your event virtual. If you’re having trouble thinking outside the box or want to make your event virtual but still super fun, let’s schedule a chat! We do custom proposals to fit your needs and design your event the way YOU want it.

Let’s talk about the (very large ) elephant in the room... Covid.

Since the pandemic began, hundreds and thousands of couples have had to reschedule, re-invent or completely cancel their wedding celebrations. For many, this meant not only having to post pone their celebrations, but also the actual act of becoming married.

I’m here to tell you that if you’re waiting for a sign about potentially re-thinking your wedding- this is it. One thing is for certain- the Pandemic allowed couples and many people to take their events outside the box, even if it means having less than 10 people in person to celebrate.

You can still get legally married AND have your party.....& yes- have your cake and eat it too!

We are prepared with the knowledge and the equipment to help you celebrate love and special occasions, safely & virtually.

Around this time last year, I was preparing my cousin for the biggest and best day of her life, as her Maid of Honor. Not only was that day so special, it was also extremely emotional for so many reasons. It got me thinking about how being a Planner is a lot like being a MOH.

My job as a Wedding & Event Planner is not just of orchestrating all of the pieces, but it’s also about holding the hands of my clients as they prepare for their events. It’s wearing many hats. There are always going to be people in this life that don’t agree with your style, your choice of venue, your dress color, etc. or just seek to burst your bubble out of jealousy or insecurity. I try my best to remind my clients that what truly matters is you keep true to your vision and more importantly, to yourself.

I try to be the voice of reason, the sounding board and also the mirror that my clients sometimes need when they get anxious about what their day will bring. & when this happens, I put on my “therapist” hat and help them persevere.

So for those of you planning something that you can’t seem to get through on your own, or maybe you just need a little help along the way, please know that we at “I Do” are waiting to hear from you & ready to help out any way we can.

Being a Wedding & Event Planner, I’m always on the lookout for things that are potential stressors or complications.

For example: Did you know that most photographers have to be extended because their time limits don’t usually allow them to be there from when you’re getting ready to your cake cutting?

Or how about that if you’re venue is DIY that you’ll need to think about if they actually have running water and electric on site?

These are the types of things we as planners look for, so that you don’t have to!

We make sure that your thinking about the fun things like your dress and cake flavor & not the plumbing or the fold of the napkin at each place setting.
