Behind this magnolia tree is the house we bought when we moved up here in 1997. The old house now serves as storage for the decorations and linens for our weddings and such. Until this morning, I had sort of forgotten the fragrant blooms that perfume the air.
Our girls grew up climbing that tree. Lauren would climb it all the way to the top. (I think she thought she could see Tennessee from there.😂). Eva would would stay closer to the ground, happy with the safer distance, should she fall.❤️. I imagine the old house will one day make room for a new house with new dreams, but I sure hope the magnolia tree with it’s beautiful flowers will remain there for a very long time. Maybe other children will climb it one day. Who knows? Maybe one of the girls will one day look out the window and find their own children climbing that old tree? Or maybe someone will sit on the front porch swing and smile at the sweet fragrance that moves softly on the breeze? I’m thanking God today for my morning walk. We have a lot to be thankful for.❤️🌳🕊️

This fall will be 4 years since we had our very first wedding at Becky Branch. It was Lauren & Denton’s❤️. It was a special moment for all of us because we had worked so hard building the barn and this land is where Lauren and Denton had spent so much time getting to know one another.
Lauren wrote and recorded the song for the daddy and daughter dance. She used part of a message Shane had left on her phone when she had moved near Pigeon Forge and we didn’t get to see her very often. I think you can hear the closeness we share and the love that continues to grow here. Lauren and Denton will soon be moving back home and we are very excited about that.
