When we make cakes for children and families through we know these cakes mean so much to families who are struggling with critical illnesses. These children are fighters and survivors, and so many things that embody strength and resilience. We also know that sometimes these beautiful warriors fight until they can’t anymore. We have made several cakes for this family through our partnership with Icing Smiles and were devastated to hear that Emily passed away. While we couldn’t attend her services yesterday, our love and prayers are with her family and all that knew her. She was so sweet, strong, and loving and it’s hard to know she has passed on. Hug everyone a little tighter when you can.

His fight and legacy resonates still. We are living in a time of civil unrest, something I keep hoping we can evolve past, but here we are. There is a right and a wrong side of history. Spread his word. March in his name. Teach your children to grow up with a heart full of love and change this world.

The past couple of years, this message hits differently, this nation still has so much growing to do and still has people who need to learn to see the humanity in others.

This year has been ups and downs and so much more. Through it all we find each other and hopefully ourselves and do the best we can. This past couple of weeks has brought moments of love, laughter, and pure joy. We may not have had everything that we wanted, but we definitely have all that we need and we are so grateful for it. Practicing gratitude helps to soothe your brain, it allows you to see more good in the world. It allows you to put energy toward the things that support your health, grow your happiness, receive your love, allowing you to feel a sense of connectedness and more joy. Thank you so much for your continued support (I will try to get back to posting all the things that have been getting baked and decorated). Hope this new year brings everything you need and keeps everything you love.
