It's Friday night. Time to check the stats.

SCOUTING REPORT: MINI ACRES FARM

The film is in, the stats have been reviewed, and Mini Acres Farm is putting up some pretty impressive numbers.

623 blueberry bushes. Yes, 623.

Since 2017, Mini Acres Farm has become known for some of the best blueberries around, but don't let the blueberry stats distract you from the rest of the roster. The farm also hosts weddings and offers outdoor space for classes, corporate events and gatherings — all tucked surprisingly close to NC State Howling Cow Ice Cream.

And there's some serious home-field advantage here. Many of the buildings on the farm were built by the owners themselves using wood from their own property.

But our favorite stat doesn't really fit on a scoreboard.

Couples who get married at Mini Acres can return once every summer to pick blueberries at no charge. It's their way of welcoming them back to the place where their marriage began and staying connected long after the wedding day is over.

As for the scouting report on the owner? A college concentration in logistics means she's usually solving event-day problems before anyone else even realizes there was a problem.

Also on the depth chart: cute goats and blueberry-scented stickers.

Frankly, that's a tough lineup to defend.

Just wanted to take a second to send out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to pick blueberries this year. It was our best season yet.

Thank you for tolerating the heat, the humidity, the stingy bugs, the rain and my constant yapping. I have loved getting know this wonderful community we live in and love seeing my blueberry family grow!

Blueberry season is my absolute favorite time of the year and I am already thinking about next season. Thank you again for a great 2026!

Although we know it will happen, it doesn’t make it any easier. Tomorrow (8/1) will be our last day for blueberry picking for the season. We will be open from 7 to noon. Come see us!
