For her reception, Robin chose a beautiful vintage gown crafted from luxurious Italian silk. The dress had history, character — and incredible potential. As Robin later shared in her review, the dress “didn’t even fit my hips and had a small stain,” but she trusted us to see what it could become. At PROVAS COUTURE, we completely reworked the fit and thoughtfully redesigned the lower part of the gown, transforming its original challenges into intentional design details. In Robin’s own words, we “managed to make it fit perfectly and hid the stain so well you’d never know it was there.” The result was a one-of-a-kind reception look created especially for Robin — elegant, effortless, and ready for celebration.

What you wear under your wedding dress matters
(a professional bridal fitting insight)

One of the most common things I see during bridal fittings:
a beautiful dress that feels tight even when the size is right.

Most of the time, it’s not the dress.
It’s what’s underneath.

As a bridal designer and alterations specialist, I focus on one thing:
letting the fabric fall the way it was designed to.

That’s why, from years of real fittings, I most often recommend Spanx for wedding gowns not as shapewear, but as foundation.

What actually works under fitted wedding dresses:
• Low / open-back bodysuits keep the back clean and invisible
• Open-bust styles allow you to wear your own bra without distorting the neckline
• High-waisted mid-thigh shorts (no side seams) smooth hips so the dress stops pulling
• Light sheers help the fabric glide instead of clinging

The right shapewear doesn’t make you smaller.
It removes tension, eliminates creases, and allows the dress to move naturally.

Shapewear should never fight the dress.
