๐ฟ Honoring Juneteenth ๐ฟ
Today, we honor and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans and recognizes the ongoing journey toward freedom, equity, and justice. On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were freeโa pivotal moment in our nation's history.
Juneteenth is a time to reflect on the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black communities throughout history. It is also an opportunity to celebrate culture, connection, and the continued work of creating spaces where all people can experience dignity, belonging, and opportunity.
Connection is at the heart of healing. Today, we encourage you to honor this day by spending time with loved ones, supporting Black-owned businesses, learning and sharing stories, celebrating Black art and culture, and engaging in conversations that inspire understanding and growth.
Freedom is not only something we remember, it is something we continue to nurture through community, compassion, and care for one another.
Wishing you a meaningful Juneteenth filled with reflection, connection, and celebration.
