Well it looks like we all escaped the worst of the weather this time, but we’re sending love to all those who didn’t get so lucky. I’m sure a passing hurricane made a few couples this weekend nervous. Could you imagine a wedding during a hurricane? Well how about FOUR days of wedding festivities?! This post is brought to you by special request! Apparently I have zero pictures of the sugar shack anywhere on our instagram or website. *oopsies* so what is the sugar shack? It’s this cute little hut right by our main white barn and the name was coined by a father of the bride many years ago and it just stuck! So what can you DO with it? Well you can make one epic bar like this, place your welcome and gift table under it, greet guests with a glass of champagne or signature cocktail here, and even have a cigar bar! It’s a perfect little extra space! Also look at our cute new cocktail hour chairs 😍

For Mother’s Day this year my two little ones brought me home a bird feeder, flowers and Norovirus! So I will be spending my time in bed while my husband takes care of the children, but it’s definitely not as relaxing as I had hoped… good thing those kids are cute right?! Are we reviewing our couples yet? Because Jordan and Blair are 10/10! I had the absolute honor of hanging out with these two all weekend while celebrating their wedding with friends and family. From their rehearsal dinner (small monsoon included) to their welcome party, wedding day, and farewell brunch. It was a weekend I will never forget! Hey everyone, it’s been a while since I really posted here. So here’s a bit of a vulnerability post. I always ran this account with my authentic voice. Sometimes sarcastic, oversharing, but always honest. Truth is I’m struggling. I know this is a wedding account and I am a wedding venue owner so you usually see me smiling and happy. But anxiety and depression have always been close companions of mine. I don’t say this for sympathy. As my best friends know asking for help or showing my vulnerability is my worst nightmare. (Need a light wired? I can do it myself! Furniture moved? I got it!) I say this because I might need an extra minute. I’m not working at my full capacity. I don’t feel like me right now. I’ll get back to her it’s just going to take a little time. Should I post this on my business account? Maybe not. But I’ve always been honest and transparent so I won’t be any different now. And if you’ve ever had times like this and even if you have them during your wedding planning it’s ok! We’ll get back to us! One breathe at a time.

Well we have officially closed the door on 2022 and walked into 2023! (See what I did there 😉) I’ve never been a big fan of new year’s resolutions. I tend to give myself lofty goals and then life gets in the way and that promise of making all our food from scratch goes right out the window along with whatever aesthetically pleasing kitchen tools I needed to make it happen. Well this year I’ve given myself 2 things I’d like to do more of in the coming year with no strict rules or times per week attached 1. Do yoga (because I have toddlers and own a venue and everything hurts now!) 2. Reconnect with more of my vendor friends in person not just through a computer or phone! What about you? What do you hope 2023 looks like?

Only 5 more sleeps until Christmas!!! Are you ready?! For once I’m not scrambling to order gifts and praying that Amazon prime delivers in time for Santa! A few more gifts need wrapping and amongst all the fun my wild and crazy girl smashed her face into a table and got to her eyelid super glue back together. Christmas photos will feature a mini boxing champ this year! But she’ll still look really cute in that new ballet outfit sitting under the tree! I hope you enjoy the next few days with family and friends and it’s injury free!

One day I noticed a new account following me. I run all our social media and probably check it more often than I should, so I immediately noticed and went to check it out. It was this very very cool illustrator who made uplifting and body positive messages. So I immediately followed back. Over the next few months I would often go check this account when I needed a little cheering up. Then I was doing a tour with the cutest couple. The bride wanted a Taylor Swift inspired wedding (ummm sign me up!!!) she looked so familiar but I couldn’t figure out why. Well a few days later I was scrolling my insta stories and who should pop up as the creator of my favorite little illustrations? My new bride! I don’t think I ever even told her how much her work meant to me and how much she cheered me up on hard days all through a little screen. Social media can be powerful. Both in the good and the bad. I’m so happy that it brought me to her though and we got to be part of her absolutely dreamy day! Here is a little peak at some of the amazing work she created for her own day!
