We are shining the spotlight on Meredith Music Alumna Susan Wall Perry, Class of 1992.

Susan is also very proud of her daughter, Molly (pictured with Susan), who graduated from Meredith Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and was in the Honors Program. She also studied abroad in Italy for a semester and was awarded the Betty Webb scholarship for International Studies. Susan was able to share the wonderful traditions of Meredith with her from Cornhuskin’ and Tea for Two, as well as Class Day and the daisy chain with her daughter. She is so proud that they are both Meredith Angels!

Susan chose to pursue a career in music because of her talented high school chorus teacher. She showed so much compassion and joy in teaching music. Susan wanted to be like her and get to sing everyday while teaching. Susan would like to tell prospective students to choose Meredith for their music education because they will have such great experiences and opportunities. She would tell current students that they made a wonderful decision in choosing Meredith and
that the traditions they experience and the education they receive will take them far in life and help them to be successful.

Susan taught music in Wilson County Schools for 30 years and has also served many years as a church choir director. Since she retired, she taught two years in a private Christian school and teaches private lessons in voice, piano, and guitar, as well as choir at Barton College in Wilson.
