Next Thursday, May 1st join us for the Meredith Philharmonic's Spring Concert in Jones Auditorium at 8pm! The Meredith Philharmonic concludes the season with works by Sousa, Johann Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Handel, and a full length concerto by Grammy Award-winning composer Andrea Casarrubios. The cello concerto features Meredith’s cello professor, Lisa Liske.

We're excited to announce Madison Abigail, soprano, Graduation Recital is Saturday, May 3rd! The performance begins at 5pm in Carswell Concert Hall!

Madison Abigail Jones is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, classically trained soprano, and independent music artist from Ayden, North Carolina. She is a senior at Meredith College and will graduate with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance degree. Abby has had the privilege of studying in the voice studio of Dr. Jeanie Wozencraft-Ornellas. As an undergraduate, Abby made her professional debut with the North Carolina Opera in their production of Puccini's La Bohème and performed in their 2024 production of Verdi's Ernani. She performed with the White Iris Light Opera for four consecutive years, most recently starring as Nanette in their production of No, No, Nanette. Furthermore, she performed a sophomore and junior recital, appeared as a guest soloist with the Triangle String Orchestra, traveled and performed with the Meredith College Chorale, making her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2023, interned and performed with the North Carolina Opera Education and Outreach program, and performed with the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra as a Concerto Aria winner. In 2023, she released Madison Abigail, her self-written, self-produced debut EP, after years of writing and performing. Abby has recently released a new self-written EP, Sunday Matinée, on all music streaming platforms. Abby is excited to begin her graduate studies at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain this fall. For more information, visit madisonabigailmusic.com.

We're excited to announce Angel Kelley, mezzo-soprano, Graduation Recital is this Saturday, April 26th! The performance begins at 7pm in Carswell Concert Hall!

Angel Kelley is a senior at Meredith College, where she will earn her Bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in voice this May. Originally from Prince George, Virginia, Angel has had the opportunity to complete two internships during her time at Meredith. She volunteers at the North Carolina Opera, assisting with the merchandise table alongside other students. Additionally, she intern in Music Technology under William vonReichbauer for Thursday recitals and various events at Meredith. Angel has always had a strong passion for both technology and music.

After graduation, Angel plans to pursue a Master's degree, though she intends to work first in order to build her personal studio for voice lessons and audio engineering. She hopes to eventually grow her own business. During her time at Meredith, Angel has been fortunate to have numerous opportunities, including performing with the Chorale at Carnegie Hall in November 2023. She has participated in ensembles, including Chorus, and is currently a member of Chorale and Encore.

Angel is also actively involved in the music department, serving as a member of the Music Department Advisory Council and as the DEIB representative. She is the co-chair of the Reception and Events Committee. Throughout her time at Meredith, Angel has cherished the memories made with her closest friends and grand-littles, the late night conversations, laughter, tears, and support. She has truly enjoyed the beauty, fun, and everything in between. Angel hopes to share the love and joy she feels for music with those around her.
She would like to express her gratitude to everyone who supported her during her time at Meredith. Without their love and encouragement, she would not be where she is today.

We're excited to announce Peyton Flory's Piano Junior Recital is this Sunday, May 4th! The performance begins at 4pm in Carswell Concert Hall!

Peyton Flory is from Wilson, North Carolina. She has been a student of Dr. Kent Lyman for the past seven years, three of which have been during her time at Meredith College. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Piano
Performance. She intends to pursue a graduate program in Piano Pedagogy and ultimately hopes to open a private teaching studio. Highlights of her time at Meredith College include performing in a variety of masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Michelle Cann and John O’Conor. Additionally, she is a two-time winner of the 2023 and 2025 Concerto Aria Competition.

We're excited to announce Alaire Donofrio's Graduation Recital on April 11th! The performance will be at 7pm in Carswell Concert Hall!

Alaire Donofrio (she/her) is a Senior graduating with a B.A in Music with an emphasis on vocal performance. She is an active member of multiple ensembles, including Meredith's Jazz/Pop singing group, Encore!, and Meredith Philharmonic, where she plays the cello. Most recently, she was in the ensemble for No, No, Nanette and HMS Pinafore as Cousin H**e with White Iris Musical Productions, Extra Theatre Company’s Miscast Cabaret, and in the ensemble of Carrie the Musical at Meredith. She hopes to use her skills to help others while advocating for the arts through performance, her personal passion for puppetry, and by working in public education.
