I love field trips. The Stockroom at 230
Spring is in the air. After calling it day on Friday, many of our teammates gathered at The Stockroom at 230 on Fayetteville Street in Downtown Raleigh. As is our custom, food, festivity, and fellowship were abundant.

Happy Halloween, everybody! 🎃 We thought we would finish out this spooky season with some scary stories of our own...
👻 The 4th floor of 230 Fayetteville St. might be home to a friendly ghost. A strange shadow-like figure has been reported drifting past the same hallway on multiple occasions! Maybe they’re just trying to get down to the parties at The Stockroom at 230?
👻 The second floor of 111 E. Hargett St. may also have a ghoul friend. One of our tenants reported seeing a ghostly handprint on the bathroom mirror, but no one had been in the space that day except for her!
👻 The Mecca, which is the oldest restaurant in Raleigh, has a handful of strange occurrences that have taken place inside. Once, a customer was sitting in a booth and got startled by a figure standing at the top of the staircase. The patron was so scared that they ended up asking for their food to-go and left.
👻 The Pit Authentic BBQ also apparently has some ghosts floating around in the kitchen! Numerous employees say they have seen faucets randomly turn themselves on and off.
👻Finally, we have the basement of 230 Fayetteville St. When we first started renovations, the construction crew could not get the doors to the basement open no matter how hard they tried and instead had to go through the adjacent building. There was also no power during those first few days, so they had to use flashlights to see anything. The first thing they saw when they finally got inside was a cage full of mannequins (which is spooky enough!) but it gets even scarier. While renovations continued, one of the construction workers saw a ghostly apparition when they were in the basement alone. A few weeks later, another worker described seeing the same figure and got so scared that he ran out and refused to go back in! Even Luis, our maintenance technician, said it is the creepiest basement he’s ever been in, and he’s seen ‘em all!
Hopefully we didn’t scare you too much, but those stories are definitely goosebump inducing! Cheers to the last day of #spookyseason, so eat, drink and be scary!
