Welcome to the premiere of "Rich on the Radio's Hidden Gems!"

Every Sunday, I’ll be digging into my private stacks of wax to share a Timeless Hit that holds a special place in my heart.

We start with a true psychedelic masterpiece: "Shanghai Noodle Factory" by Traffic - first released in the UK (December 1968) and later in the US (February 1969).

This track is soulful, trippy, and absolutely legendary!

Did you know it was originally just the B-side to "Medicated Goo"?

It finally found a permanent home on the 1969 album, "Last Exit."

The secret sauce has to be Chris Wood’s incredible flute work... it weaves through the melody to create such a unique, ethereal vibe.

Years later, legendary songwriter Billy Joel revealed that the staccato piano for his great "52nd Street" track, "Stiletto", was inspired by Traffic's "Shanghai Noodle Factory".

I will keep on sharing these hidden gems with you every Sunday!

Keep an eye on my social media for more "Hidden Gems" and when you can hear The Sunday Sampler throughout baseball season!

You can catch WRJN on 99.9 FM (Racine), 98.1 FM (Kenosha), 107.3 FM (Milwaukee), and 1400 AM and 1290 (Southeastern Wisconsin)...

And streaming WORLDWIDE on the free Civic Media App!

Can you figure out which legendary duo hit NUMBER 1 on this day in 1970 and stayed there for... wait for it... ten straight weeks?

It’s one of the greatest stories of friendship and melody ever recorded. I can’t listen to those opening piano notes without getting a little bit emotional. It’s pure magic!

March 7, 1970, was the day Simon & Garfunkel truly owned the airwaves with "Bridge Over Troubled Water."

We'll be spinning more classics like this through the weekend, along with High School Playoff Basketball and Brewers Spring Training Baseball!

Whether you’re in Racine, Kenosha, Milwaukee, or anywhere else in Southeastern Wisconsin, Rise & Shine with Timeless Hits right here on WRJN.

Join me this morning for the first edition of Rise & Shine with Rich on the Radio from 6-10AM, followed by "Rock and Roll Never Forgets" with Terry Havel!

I’ve got a little riddle for you this Friday... can you guess which legendary duo changed the sound of the 50s on this very day? 🎸✨

It was March 6th, 1958: exactly 68 years ago: when two brothers stepped into a Nashville studio to record a song that would stay at NUMBER 1 for five straight weeks.

Can you figure it out? 🌙💤 Any guesses?

It’s one of those tracks that makes you want to close your eyes and just drift away. Those harmonies... they give me chills every single time.

It’s the ultimate Friday mood, isn’t it?

We’re celebrating The Everly Brothers' anniversary all day right here on WRJN.

Make sure you’re tuned into 99.9 FM in Racine, 98.1 FM in Kenosha, 107.3 FM in Milwaukee, 1400 AM and 1290 throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, and, of course, WORLWIDE with the Civic Media App! 📻

Let me know your favorite memory of this song in the comments. Was it a first dance? A late-night drive? I gotta know.

I have a little secret... but can you figure it out? I'm dropping hints about a massive milestone in music history that happened exactly 61 years ago today!

It’s March 5, 1965. The British Invasion is in full swing, and a young guitar hero is about to walk away from his band because this new track is "too poppy." Who are we talking about?

Any guesses?

It’s the 61st Anniversary of The Yardbirds’ iconic hit "For Your Love!" 🕊️

This was their first Top Ten smash, featuring the legendary Eric Clapton on guitar. Talk about a timeless classic that still sounds incredible, whether it be on 1400 AM, 1290 AM, 99.9 FM (Racine), 98.1 FM (Kenosha), or 107.3 FM (Milwaukee)!

We’re celebrating all the 60s greats today on WRJN... but I have to know... are you Team Clapton or Team Jeff Beck?

It’s the ultimate Yardbirds debate! Drop your vote in the comments! 👇

Make sure you’re tuned in throughout the day for The Don Rosen Morning Show, Dan Markus' Wax Museum, Homeward Bound with Curt Vollman, and Nights with Chris Moreau! All the Timeless Hits!

You can take us with you anywhere WORLDWIDE on the Civic Media App or on our website: WRJN.com!

"Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday... Who could hang a name on you?" 🎵

Can you believe it's been exactly 59 years to the day since this absolute masterpiece hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100? On March 4th, 1967, The Rolling Stones officially claimed the top spot!

I know what you're thinking... it's "Ruby Tuesday" on a Wednesday! 😉 But hey, when the music is this timeless, the day of the week doesn't even matter, does it?

We’re celebrating The Rolling Stones and other music legends all day long right here on WRJN.

Whether you’re tuning in on 99.9 FM in Racine, 98.1 FM in Kenosha, 107.3 FM in Milwaukee, or anywhere in Southeastern Wisconsin on 1400 AM or 1290 AM, we’ve got those "Between the Buttons" vibes going strong... 📻

I've got a little challenge for you though... any guesses on what the A-side was?

You heard right: Ruby Tuesday was the B-SIDE on the 45.

Hint: It’s another classic that definitely wants us to "spend some time" together! But can you figure it out? 🧐

Catch all the Timeless Hits right here on WRJN or take us with you WORLDWIDE on the free Civic Media App. Don’t miss a beat! ✨
