One place I can always help brides budget — and it might shock you 👀🌹

Faux florals are way more common (and way more elevated) than you think.

It’s 2026. We have self driving cars. I promise the faux flowers are not like the ones your great aunt carried in 1995. The quality now? Unreal. When thoughtfully designed, layered intentionally, and styled well, they photograph beautifully and create the same lush, romantic impact.

And here’s my favorite strategic tip:
If you’ve always envisioned real flowers but your budget says otherwise…

✨ Splurge on your bouquet. ✨

That’s the piece most likely to be preserved.
That’s what you’ll hold all day.
That’s what lives in your portraits forever.
Have that one real, personal floral moment just for you. 🤍

Then save on large-scale décor installs with high-quality faux florals and reallocate those thousands toward what matters most - a live band, custom draping, elevated rentals, or that Pinterest dream detail you thought was out of reach 📌

And before anyone panics — no shade to my florists! I deeply respect the art and talent behind real floral design, and when the budget allows, I love incorporating it. Flowers create those hard-hitting focal points.💐

But my job is to prioritize my clients and their budgets, and I’m always going to keep it real.

Guests won’t be disappointed to learn your florals are faux (if they even notice…and honestly? Half the time they’re impressed).

Hot topic: family on wedding day👀

You want them to be a part of your day, soaking in every moment with you.

Not checking the timeline, finalizing floor plans, decorating, or tracking down vendors. (Those are the basics, it can get worse, trust.)

Inevitably, no matter how much you plan ahead, there is going to be a bump in the road.

My job is to step in so you don’t have to choose between trusting your people and protecting the experience. I’m there for you, and for them, so everyone gets to soak in every moment🫶🏻

A love letter to the process💌

If you’ve been following along, you know I had planned a styled shoot to bring vendors together and create an indulgent, vintage Valentine’s Day dream☁️🍷

But if you’re on the East Coast, you also know last week’s weather wasn’t on anyone’s side.

After weeks of detailed planning, coordinating vendors, and piecing together the perfect props, it was hard to swallow that it wouldn’t come to life the way I imagined.

But that’s life and a big part of my job is pivoting and making the most of last-minute chaos.

So we shifted gears, pulled it together, and still created something beautiful🕊️

And honestly, there’s a lot of beauty in the planning process… Quiet moments putting together the perfect Pinterest board, antiquing for the perfect gem, connecting with other vendors, and everything in between 🤍

That’s the difference between a wedding that looks nice and one that feels elevated.

A special shoutout to the place where the magic lived.🕯️

Our underground styled shoot last August came to life beneath the earth at Shenandoah Caverns- a location that feels less like a venue and more like a once in a lifetime experience. Discovered in 1884 and welcoming visitors for over a century, these caverns are living artwork shaped entirely by time, patience, and nature itself.

Transforming a space like this into an event setting was nothing short of ethereal. Candlelight against ancient formations, quiet echoes, and a sense that you’ve stepped outside the world above and into something deeper, more intentional, more connected.🪞

Today, Shenandoah Caverns offers intimate cavern weddings and elopements for up to 30 guests, with opportunities for ceremonies below ground, unforgettable photography moments, and even dining experiences set deep within the caverns or receptions hosted just above. Many couples celebrating at the Yellow Barn choose to weave the caverns into their day, creating imagery that truly cannot be replicated.

This is the kind of place that reminds us: extraordinary experiences don’t always require travel far from home. Sometimes, the most breathtaking spaces and the most meaningful connections are rooted right here in the Shenandoah Valley, waiting to be reimagined.✨

Another Vendor spotlight from our underground styled shoot last August ✨

I was thrilled to collaborate with Enchanted Grazing, Northern Virginia’s premier charcuterie and grazing table artist, who thoughtfully donated and styled the most beautiful spread for this shoot. From perfectly curated cured meats and artisanal cheeses to fresh fruits and gourmet pairings, every detail was both visually stunning and impeccably executed.🍇

Enchanted Grazing has a true gift for transforming food into an experience—one that elevates intimate gatherings and grand celebrations alike. I’m so grateful for her creativity and generosity, and can’t wait to see her art gracing many more celebrations ahead.🕯️

What do wedding planners do in the off-season? 🤍

It’s not just free weekends and cozy downtime (though we’ll take a little of that). For me, off-season is the behind-the-scenes reset—updating the website, refining packages and pricing, organizing last year’s client files, reconnecting with vendors, and planting seeds for future collaborations.

It’s after-hours client meetings (because the 9–5 still exists) and quietly preparing for the energy wedding season will demand come spring.

It may look calm on the outside, but off-season is really about regrouping—so planners can show up refreshed, organized, and ready when it matters most. ✨

My first year in business looked a little like this:

14 beautiful weddings.
1,000+ miles traveled.
30+ timelines sent.
2 planning notebooks (RIP).
100+ sparklers lit.
Peak chaos: May & October.
MVP emergency item: fishing line (truly unmatched).

More than the numbers, I’m endlessly grateful for the couples who trusted me with one of the biggest days of their lives. Every wedding, every challenge, every win shaped me, my business, and the way I’ll plan love stories moving into 2026.
