2021 Leesburg Bakers Dozen
Is a No-Go

After much deliberation, we have decided that we will not be doing this race for spring 2021. This was a tough call to make, we all look forward to the race every year. This year there are too many uncertainties with COVID-19, and with it affecting how my kids schools are operating, I cannot commit to the time needed to prepare for a race.

Way to go!

The county is home to 250 miles of gravel roads, some dating back to the 1700s. As development threatens some of those roads, one cyclist says he'll ride them all in one sitting to raise awareness.

Quarantine Story Time: Bakers Dozen Edition

I don't know about you, but my Facebook Memories have been flooded with Bakers Dozen pics over the last couple of weeks! Since we are not having the race this year, let's share stories from past years. Share a story in the comments of the good, the bad, the muddy! Bonus points for great pics. Take a few minutes to go through old pictures and think about races you've done, and share a story!

Your mountain bike might be a vintage bike if…

-You used to ride it when you had long hair in the back and really short hair in the front

-It was at least two years old when we started the Leesburg Bakers Dozen race in 2007

-You rode it during the last presidential impeachment

-The wheels are only 26”

-The most used tools in your toolbox are cone wrenches

-It was the bike you were riding back in the day when Lance was still winning the Tour de France and we all still thought it was legit

-You have a hard time getting parts for it nowadays because they just don’t make those parts anymore
