๐ A Real Talk Moment About Small Businesses in Prosser ๐
I think itโs important to say out loud what so many small business owners in Prosser are feeling right now:
Most of us are barely viable.
Every quarter , honestly every month โ many of us have to sit down and decide if we can afford to stay open. We donโt say that publicly because we love this town, we believe in what we do, and we donโt want to guilt anyone. But itโs the truth.
And hereโs the part most people donโt see:
Small businesses are the ones donating to local events, raffles, fundraisers, auctions, school programs, and charitiesโฆ even when we donโt really have it to give.
Weโre the ones hosting โfreeโ events that actually cost us money out of pocket โ because we want to give families something special to do, because we want Prosser to have life, activity, joy, and reasons to gather.
A lot of us are also still working regular 9โ5 jobs (or many odd and part time jobs!) just to keep our doors open, keep the lights on, buy supplies, and provide something fun and unique for our community.
Meanwhile, Prosser is shrinking.
Small businesses are leaving.
Opportunities are shifting to towns with bigger populations and or more support. And every time another storefront closes, our downtown dims a little more.
If you love this community โ if you want Prosser to stay alive, creative, vibrant, and filled with local places instead of empty buildings โ please support small businesses this season.
It truly matters.
Even the smallest purchase, visit, share, review, or recommendation makes a real impact.
Thank you to everyone who keeps showing up for us. It truly means more than you know. ๐
