💔 It's hard to believe that this would happen. A backyard summer afternoon turned into every parent's worst nightmare.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office has identified the 6-year-old boy who died in a tragic electrocution accident as Jordan Aure Buitron.

Investigators say Jordan was playing near a water slide at his family's home when metal stakes used to secure the inflatable punctured an underground electrical wire. Authorities say the damaged wire energized the surrounding ground, and Jordan was electrocuted after coming into contact with it.

A family member rushed him to the hospital, where doctors fought to save his life. Despite their efforts, Jordan was pronounced dead.

The Hidalgo County Medical Examiner has ruled his death accidental.

Born on February 4, 2020, in Edinburg, Jordan was remembered by his family as a joyful little boy who loved the beach, motorcycles, and making people smile. They say his laughter and gentle spirit brought happiness to everyone who knew him.

He leaves behind his parents, four siblings, grandparents, and many loved ones who are now grieving an unimaginable loss.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan's family as they grieve this unimaginable loss," Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra said.
