Some wedding days remind us that the most beautiful celebrations aren’t about perfect weather, but about creating something meaningful, whatever the forecast brings...(there's a metaphor there.💕)

Lauren & Jonathan’s 10•10 backyard wedding was everything they envisioned: romantic florals, rustic Southwestern charm, boho details, and the warmth of an intimate gathering surrounded by loved ones.

And, of course, "Rachel" decided to join the celebration. 🌧️😉

With rain in the forecast, we planned ahead for several contingencies, preparing our sleek, securely anchored canopies, weatherproofing the arch and decor, and finding ways to protect the couple’s vision while keeping guests comfortable. As the weather shifted, we adjusted our plans and made the most of every break in the rain — with dancing, laughter, cake, and so much joy.

Rachel may have tried to “crash” this wedding, but she was no match for a little Hometown Hostess hospitality and preparation.✨️

Because thoughtful wedding planning isn't just about how everything looks when the sun is shining. It's about anticipating the what-ifs and having a plan in place so couples can be present in their day without worrying about what might happen next.

An absolutely stunning cake by ChrissyCakes at the micro-wedding Hometown Hostess styled and coordinated yesterday!😍🌹👏✨️

✨ A little taste of Italy! 🇮🇹🍋

I loved creating this beautiful semi-naked wedding cake, finished with those gorgeous jewel-toned florals. But the real magic was on the inside! 🤍

The couple chose two delicious Italian-inspired flavors:
Top tier: Sacripantina: light, creamy and absolutely dreamy
Bottom tier: Limoncello: bright, fresh and bursting with lemon 🍋

I tried two recipes for this one that were too good not to share, so I’ll link them below for anyone who wants to give them a try!

It was the twilight of summer…✨️

We had just finished setting the last little details into place when a stray monsoon rolled in—cooling the air, deepening the sky, and sending a soft hush across the hillside.

A blessing on a wedding day. 🤍

The wood ceremony arch swayed gently in the breeze, dressed in ivory draping that floated down to the ground. Loose, organic clusters of golden blooms, soft ivory flowers, delicate blush and lavender roses, sunkissed sunflowers and airy greenery gathered across the wood—like the last blooms of summer caught in a gentle breeze.

Above the intimate ceremony space, custom floral garlands graced the balcony, spilling with late summer color and wild, garden-inspired greenery.

The bride carried a fresh bouquet that was a garden story echoing those same beautiful blooms: lavender and blush roses, butterfly ranunculus, violet matthiola, ombré Veronica, thistle, chamomile, vibrant sunflowers, and a deep plum dahlia, softened with eucalyptus, with a coordinating boutonniere for her groom.🌻

And nearby, an abundant grazing table for 25 guests invited everyone to gather, nibble, linger, and celebrate.

The cicadas sang from the trees as the rain passed through, and somewhere between summer’s last blooms and the whispered promise of fall, two people began a new chapter.

A little rain.
A little mountain magic.

There is something special about walking alongside a couple long before their wedding day arrives—and then finally getting to see all those plans, hopes, and little details come together.

Paige & Jeremy’s wedding was especially meaningful to me. For nearly two years, I’ve had the joy of being part of their journey toward this beautiful day, and it was such a gift to finally see everything we had talked about and envisioned become a reality.

They are truly the sweetest couple, and their families were wonderful to meet and work with. Seeing their beautiful son Hudson and sweet pups, Sadie & Daisy, be part of the celebration made the day even better.🐾

One of my favorite details was their intricately styled chuppah, where we incorporated a cherished family heirloom prayer shawl, cascading florals and graceful draping -bringing generations of family, faith, and tradition into the space where they began their marriage. 🤍

We also created a beautiful grazing table with three distinct stations thoughtfully arranged to honor kosher observances, while still offering an abundant and welcoming experience for their guests. And what an incredible all-star vendor team! It was a pleasure to work alongside such talented professionals who helped bring every detail together so beautifully.

Congratulations Mr.& Mrs. Lelah! Thank you for trusting Hometown Hostess with such an important part of your story. It was an honor to be there through the planning and preparation and to help bring your vision to life.

Ask Hometown Hostess 💌

I recently got a text from a colleague friend asking, “Do you do wedding expos and vendor fairs? I haven’t seen you at any lately!”

And I thought… you know what? That’s a good question. 😂

Yes, I do — and I genuinely like them! There’s something so fun about meeting new faces, connecting with fellow event pros and talking about all the beautiful ways we get to celebrate people. 💐

But here’s the candid answer about why you may not see me at every one, or even most of them...

Most of the time, if I’m not at a vendor fair or wedding expo, I’m already working. Usually with the people who have trusted me with their celebrations.

Today was a pretty perfect example: I had my own Prescott "venue tour" of sorts, meetings with two brides to plan their wedding layouts, a prospective client consult, a floral consult, a family recipe lasagna tutorial with my daughter… and, of course, church choir and services.

It’s a full life, and I’m grateful for it.💓

Faith, family and my clients come first. Sometimes that means choosing the work already on my calendar or time with the people I love over another networking opportunity.

And when the stars align and I am available? You better believe I’ll be there! I love our event professional community — the connections, the conversations and getting to see familiar faces while meeting new ones.✨
