Biggest apologies to our Billiard Battlers who participated in the double header on 2/13/26! With Vegas BCA travel, I (Jamie) totally spaced on posting the results.
We had a fun evening of Battle. First up was Linette Wilson (FR 254) v Eric Olson (FR 605)- bar box 8b race to 5, with a TWIST- Eric had to play the entire match one-handed, with no ability to use the table for resting/bridging! Each player brought $50 to the middle, with all winnings being donated to the winner's charity of choice. What a thoughtful and kind gesture!
This task proved to be a little tough. It's difficult to get into a rhythm when you can't fully stroke. Eric was a great sport, and Linette's fun spirit made for an adventurous match up. Linette won with a resounding 5-1 result. Way to go, girl!
For the marquee matchup, BB veterans Sean Brooks (FR 578) and Andy Davis (FR 581) battled bar box 9b in a race to 13, with $600 in the middle!
These players are buds and have played each other many times over the years. Sean brought his nomad-self back to our neck of the woods for this match, and it did not disappoint! Lots of back and forth, excellent shot making, smart safeties, and solid decisions were exhibited by both fellas. In the end, Andy kept his foot on the gas after overcoming a 2-game deficit, and won with an impressive 13-8 score. Way to go, guys, it was fun to watch you both!
