A few months ago, I honestly knew nothing about planting or growing fruits and vegetables. Now I’m over here checking on my plants every day like a proud parent. 😂 There’s something so rewarding about taking something you would normally throw away and giving it a second life.

Seeing new growth reminds me that everything starts somewhere — even beginners can grow beautiful things with a little patience, curiosity, and care. I’m learning as I go, making mistakes along the way, but that’s part of the fun.

Who knew growing your own food could be this exciting?

My son suggested I try to regrow a pineapple. We will see what happens, I will definitely keep you updated😅

On April 16, I decided to try something different — regrowing my romaine lettuce and celery from the same fresh produce I use to make our salads.

Fast forward to May 23… and this little experiment taught me a lesson in resilience.

Between prepping and decorating for my son’s graduation, life got busy and I forgot to water them for a couple of days during some high heat. The celery completely gave up on me 😩, and the romaine definitely went into shock… but it didn’t quit.

It may be a little bitter now, but honestly that feels symbolic. Even after stress, heat, and being overlooked for a moment, it still kept growing.

A reminder that sometimes growth isn’t perfect — but surviving and continuing anyway still counts.
