This has been a long time coming.

Over the years I’ve answered countless questions about growing dahlias. Just this past weekend, I found myself at my son’s baseball game helping another parent troubleshoot their plants. It reminded me how often the same questions come up each spring.

There is a lot of information available about growing dahlias, but it can also be confusing. Sometimes advice contradicts itself, and sometimes it simply isn’t clear enough for a new grower to know what to do next.

So I created a Growing Guide. 💐

Built from years of growing experience at Wild Vine Flower Co., it covers everything from planting through harvest, with hand-drawn illustrations inspired by a gardener’s notebook.

Whether you’re planting your first tuber or your fiftieth, I hope you’ll find something helpful inside.

The garden gate is about to close on our 2026 Garden Speakeasy sale. ✨

I just added a late season restock with some hard-to-find favorites, floral design workhorses that bloom their hearts out all summer, and many remaining varieties now marked down for the final days of the season.

If you’ve had your eye on a few special varieties, this is likely the best pricing and last chance before the season officially comes to a close.

Everything currently listed will remain available through Monday evening, May 18, and all orders will ship Tuesday. Flat rate shipping is $10.

Then that’s it until next season.

I’ve made the bouquets for senior night for years, across multiple sports and schools. It’s always such a fun, special event.
This year was a little more special and definitely more emotional because it was my own senior walking the field. 🥹🩷💐🌟

Hi everyone 🌟-

A quick UPDATE for those who opted for spring rooted cuttings as replacements for their unrooted cuttings from the fall sale.

I began waking all of the tubers for cuttings in early January. As you all know, they need to push eyes and produce viable shoots before I can take cuttings, and some varieties just take their time getting there, even in ideal conditions.

For example, Bracken Accord, which I know many of you are waiting on, is just now forming eyes. She’s being a huge diva this year, so cuttings from that variety will naturally be a little behind… perhaps that’s why she’s such a unicorn. On the flip side, varieties like Murmure have been total overachievers and are already well underway.

I expect to have most varieties ready to go starting mid-April. I’ll be reaching out throughout the week to email each of you with what I expect to have available within the next four weeks, and what may take a bit longer, potentially into May.

From there, you can decide what you’d prefer. If you’d like to wait for your specific varieties, I so appreciate your patience. If you’d prefer a refund instead, that is absolutely fine as well.

Thank you again for your support and understanding. Growing always comes with a bit of unpredictability, and I’m doing everything I can to get these to you as soon as they’re ready.

CUTTING CUSTOMERS!

IMPORTANT: If I did not email you yesterday and you are still owed cuttings, please email me TODAY at [email protected] so I can get you on the correct list.

QUICK WEATHER AND SHIPPING NOTE:

With freezing temperatures now hitting many parts of the country, I want to offer yet another option for anyone who is concerned about freezing temps in their area.

You may choose to switch your order to ALL rooted cuttings shipped in late winter or early spring. If you select this option, nothing will ship now. Your order would ship as fully rooted cuttings during your preferred window between late February and April.

If you would like to make this change, just message me and I will update your order. You will receive a new invoice reflecting your changes sometime this weekend, no matter which option you choose.

I want every plant to arrive with the best possible chance of success. 🌿

Quick Update for My Cutting Customers🎉

Hi friends. Happy Thanksgiving week! 🦃

I just got home yesterday morning and I’m heading out to take fresh cuttings for anyone who needed replacements.

⭐️If you had missing or damaged cuttings and haven’t reached out yet, please message or email me today so I can get you taken care of.⭐️

I’m planning to ship replacements this afternoon. If anything prevents them from going out today, I’ll update you later today or tomorrow morning.

If I don’t have enough of a particular variety, you’ll get to choose one of these options:
1. A refund
2. A rooted cutting in late winter
3. A tuber in late winter (completely dependent upon if I have enough when I dig)

Thanks for your patience — excited to get these out to you! 🥰♥️

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderdul Friday!

🌼Another quick update for my fall cutting customers.🌼

My amazing friends at Barricks Blooms worked all day today and shipped out as many orders as humanly possible! Rachel Barrick has been an absolute LIFESAVER and I am so grateful for the time, care and love she has put into helping me. I really cannot express how thankful and truly appreciative I am. Shipping cuttings is a lot of work!

Anything Rachel was not able to ship today will be kept hydrated, fresh, and cared for until Monday. Those remaining orders will ship out first thing Monday morning.

If your order is one that cannot be shipped by Rachel, I will reach out to you personally before the 23rd to explain why. I have everything needed for every order. I may just need to take a few fresh cuttings for yours once I am back home. Those orders will ship on November 23 or 24, along with a little something special as a thank you for your patience.

Thank you all so much for your kindness and understanding while I am here caring for my mom. And another huge thank you to Barricks Blooms for being absolute angels. I owe you a great bug expensive hapoy hour ladies. I love you! 😘 💕 💗

PS: A lot of you have asked how my mom is doing, so here is a quick update:

She has very painful stress fractures in her left acetabulum from a combination of a poorly done hip replacement and undiagnosed osteoporosis. She was released early from in-patient rehab, so I am here helping her transition back home, use her walker, and adjust back in to life on her own.
This has not been easy since she was in the middle of moving from a big house to a condo when all of this happened.
It is hard to slow a very busy woman down, but she is healing and getting there day by day. I’m glad that I can be here to help. It’s really difficult to be away from my family and my business unexpectedly, but it’s clear that I am where I am needed most in this moment.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your understanding and patience. I will get everything to you as soon as possible! 🙏💖
