Exciting Transformations Coming to Our Farm in 2026
As we approach our 25th wedding anniversary next year, we are delighted to share some upcoming changes for our farm. Our goal is to adopt farming practices that foster a better work-life balance, enabling us to enjoy our farm, each other, and share our efforts with the community.
When we first launched the farm, our enthusiasm led us to explore every facet of farming. We canned our own food, raised livestock, took up beekeeping, and even hosted classes—essentially, we tried to do it all. However, over the last 11 years, we've refined our focus to align our passions with what we can realistically manage. While we would love to take on more, as a "ma and pa operation", it’s essential to concentrate on what works best for us, allowing us extra time to celebrate our love for one another.
Major Announcement!
We have made the decision to reduce the number of animals we care for. Ram, Cinquenta, and Isabella (our goat who thinks she’s a dog) will stay, but the rest will be finding new homes. We recognize that the animals have attracted families for preschool birthday parties and Family Fridays, and we sincerely apologize to our loyal supporters. It has been a joy to witness your families grow over the years; however, scaling back on animals is the most practical choice for us as we move forward.
This change brings wonderful news for our engaged couples of 2026! We are committed to ensuring that our wedding couples have the best possible experience, so our focus will shift to maintaining our grounds and gardens, allowing us to minimize time spent managing animals. In the future, the animal areas will be converted into more flower beds, and we will be establishing blueberry fields for a you-pick section. I can already picture Kevin and me relaxing in our rocking chairs, guiding guests to the fields of delectable blueberries.
Our overnight accommodations will now be limited to the Flowering Cottage Homestead and RV sites, as we plan to move back into our main house this fall. Hooray for no more walking sideways to exit our tiny bedroom!
We believe our farm will continue to be ideal for:
Weddings
You-pick Flowers
Showers
Teen birthdays (imagine a sweet sixteen celebration on a flower farm, complete with you-pick bouquets and a photographer)
Photo opportunities
Events
Date nights
Happy hour gatherings
Additionally, we are considering offering a CSA flower subscription next year.
I will be extending my floristry work to offerings outside of the farm including off-site weddings.
Once again, changes are on the horizon. We truly appreciate your support over the years and your belief in helping us fulfill our farm dreams.
