❄️In our Winter Problem-Solving season featuring the Tinkergarten method, kids will be encouraged to observe, experiment, and work together to find solutions to open-ended challenges presented by our environment. STEM components are highlighted for the older kiddos, and every class wraps up with a story and hot tea! As always, creatures are our teachers and nature is our guide. We ended class today with some downhill-painted-rock-bowling! "When we are able to think and act freely, we become open to discover new possibilities and invent new things."-Tinkergarten. Our TG lesson today shared the opportunity to support and celebrate the process of art-making more than the final product 🎨💚🌞 Tinkergarten

Spreading Smiles is an all-time Tinkergarten classic! We've done this in class as far back as 2015! 🌰😁🌳 It's a joy discussing with our little ones how OTHERS may feel when they find smiles we've leave behind!

Tinkergarten’s “Spreading Smiles” activity gives kids an opportunity to experience how much fun it can be to share and think about the feelings of others.

Tinkergarten just made composting fun! 🤣 Washed eggshells are an amazing, sensory rich medium for exploration, full of minerals and nutrition to pass on to our future plant life! Time to wash and bake some shells for class this week! 🥚 We'll be 'breaking' and 'blending' on Saturday and Monday, two key building blocks of the creative process 🤓

It’s hard for little ones to grasp the life cycle of the food we eat. Even if you compost, the full process takes a loonnngg time. One great way to get kids right into the action? Just add food scraps to some soil! 🍌☕️🥚

Food scraps like egg shells, coffee grounds, fruit peels, and dried leaves enrich the soil by adding key nutrients like calcium, potassium, and nitrogen.

And, when kids get to crush, rip and blend them into the dirt, they get the sensory and creativity boost that destructive play delivers. A win-win!

🌱Spring Tinkergarten is finally underway!!🌱

Our Saturday class was breezy/chilly yesterday but we discussed the importance that "breaking" plays in the creative process and got creative ourselves!

We:
1. Explored and deconstructed fresh flowers 🌼
2. Decorated our Nature Classroom 🎉
3. Created shapes and used flowers in new artistic ways 🔺🦗🍕
4. Sorted by color, texture, and in every way we were inspired! 🪣
5. Enjoyed story & snack time with a book about a Square who transformed many many times!

Our Saturday class is pretty full, but we have space for a few more springtime Explorers! I have updated the registration form to 8 weeks $107 single child/$143 whole family.

🌱Monday Spring Tinkergarten starts tomorrow and has some space as well!🌱 I'm asking $120 single child/$160 whole family. Drop-ins are always welcome too, for either class $15/$20 (please register)!
