Had a lot of fun working on this quilt for district 3 and for Tom Sollitt
I’ve been in Portland for 6 (6!!!) years now, and in district 3 longer than I’ve lived in any other neighborhood - the exception being the one I grew up in, district 9 in Brooklyn, New York
I love so many things about this city, but my favorite things are the ones that remind me of my hometown - a cultural commitment to authenticity, a fierce loyalty to your neighbors, and a protectiveness about the things that make it unique.
I’m grateful to have made harbor here in pdx, and for the creative communities here that thrive on the idea that rising tides carry all ships, it’s an artistic ecosystem that understands the value of collaboration over competition, and basically I just think that’s rad :•)
