This video will be one of my favorite memories for the rest of my life. ❤️

Last month at nearly 65 years old, my mom attended her very first drag performance and stepped foot into her very first gay bar. At the end of the night, after hours of drag, dancing, and community, we found ourselves on the dance floor together.

As a trans kid who grew up wondering what acceptance would look like, I never imagined moments like this. Getting to share q***r joy with my mom, in a space filled with love and celebration, is something I’ll never forget.
