Thinking about DJ Ozroc and his family today on this 2 year anniversary of his passing back on May 29th, 2024. It’s unsettling how this date has now become a trigger for so many heavy feels. Sure, some obvious feelings of sadness and grief… BUT, if you really knew Oscar Ozroc Chaidez, it sure is hard not to smile when you think back on all of the hilarious moments and ridiculous escapades that he shared with us all.
My little brother. The Robin to my Batman. Cut from the same cloth of genuine authenticity that we still represent proudly and uphold to this very day.
I hope you know how many people love and miss you. One thing we’re not gonna do is just let your name fade away with time. In fact, we’re still holdin' it down at Wicked Wednesday every single week in your honor, just the way you’d want us to.
“Down by law. And it don’t stop.”
I’m grateful to have so many fond memories, photos and videos to reflect back on. There’s so many more, but here’s a few that I had on hand. If anyone has any photos or memories of Oscar that you’re willing to share, please feel free to post them in the comments section below.

A glance at some of the smiling faces at Wicked Wednesday last night. It was a beautiful May night and everyone at WW seemed extra happy and in good spirits. It’s starting to feel like summer at Wicked Wednesday… my favorite season at Portland’s Hip-Hop sanctuary! We had some new faces in the building in addition to some of the loyal regulars, and the music hit just right. 💯 Thanks to everyone who continues to attend support the longest running weekly Hip-Hop event in Portland. Wicked Wednesday has been a PDX Hip-Hop institution for 28 years and still going. Now every Wednesday night at the Cheerful Tortoise. The legacy continues. ✌️

I feel like my short list of favorite DJs changes every couple of years. Right now in May of 2026 my current favorites (in no particular order) are probably DJ Koco, Mr. Thing, Robert Smith and Marc Hype, and DJ Rena is always fun to watch too. If you’re not familiar with these DJs, they’re definitely worth getting familiar with. I suggest heading over to YouTube and heading down the rabbit hole. You’ll thank me later. ✌️

Coming up soon! Sat, June 20th is the next “LUCHINI” dance party at the Spare Room! Luchini is Portland’s premiere, all vinyl dance party! This time around we have all vinyl sets by DJ Wicked, DJ Mafia & DJ Chaos!
