At 7,500 feet up, Panoramic Point absolutely hits different. Standing at the peak, you get a massive, 360-degree view of Kings Canyon and the snow-capped High Sierra. The mountains look endless, and you can see all the way down to a sparkling Hume Lake framed by giant sequoias. It’s total main-character-energy views.
Honestly, though, the best part is the crowd at the top. The summit is basically a giant group chat of outdoor lovers. You learn so much just by swapping stories with fellow hikers—whether a pro backpacker is putting you on to a hidden trail, a local is explaining how glaciers carved the valley, or a fellow traveler is sharing the best sunset spots. The views get you up the mountain, but the community vibe is what makes you want to stay.

In our natural habitat. The Panoramic View Trail at Kings Canyon National Park serves up some of the best views in California! Everything about this hike—the sounds, the vistas, the energy—was beautiful.

Fair warning: The drive up is no joke. It’s a tight, single-lane road with two-way traffic and fast drivers. Take it slow!
Would you hike this trail? Let me know in the comments!

From the dizzying switchbacks of the foothills to driving straight through giant fallen logs. The road into Sequoia National Park is a massive adventure before you even step foot on a trail.

Pro-tip for the drive up: Take your time on the curves, use the pullouts to let faster traffic pass, and keep your eyes peeled for the transition from oak trees to giant sequoias. It feels like entering another planet!

Listen to the natural symphony of Kings Canyon National Park. Discover the unique bird songs and wildlife calls along the scenic Panoramic Point Trail near Grant Grove.

Focusing on the sounds completely changes how you experience a trail. While the eyes look out at the massive cliffs of Kings Canyon, the ears get treated to a completely different, intimate layer of the forest.

While neighboring Sequoia wraps you in a dense canopy of ancient giants, Kings Canyon National Park offers a different kind of magic: raw, jaw-dropping scale that stretches as far as the eye can see. The walk to Panoramic Point is a masterclass in massive payoffs. It is a short, paved trail that leads you straight to the edge of the world, revealing a sweeping wilderness vista that will leave you absolutely speechless.

The first thing that hits you when walking among the Giant Sequoias is the silence. The thick, fibrous bark of these massive trees acts like natural acoustic foam, absorbing sound and wrapping the entire forest in a deep, reverent quiet.

Walking past them, their massive, fluted trunks look like ancient, frozen waves of cinnamon-red rock. Touch the bark, and it surprises you; it’s soft, spongy, and thick—a natural armor built to survive centuries of wildfires. Walking the loops beneath these titans, you don’t feel small in a fragile way; you feel small in a way that feels protected, nestled in the roots of living things that have stood for over two thousand years.

The first time I went to Sequoia I knew I wanted to bring my parents here. I did just that, we made memories here and it forever will stay in my heart. The trees, the memories and the images was all worth the 2 hours windy roads up the mountains from the base.

Good morning beautiful! Hope you have a great Tuesday! Here is a photo I took at Kings Canyon

"He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength."
