“The Kivett Bednar Band delivers a powerful, modern take on the blues, combining deep roots, soulful musicianship, and high-energy performances. Frontman Kivett Bednar grew up in Austin, Texas, surrounded by the sounds of one of America’s great blues and roots music cities. He discovered the blues through his father’s record collection, developing an early appreciation for the guitarists, singers, and songwriters who shaped the tradition. After moving to Portland, Oregon, in 2012, Kivett became part of the Pacific Northwest blues community and developed his own distinctive voice as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter.

The Kivett Bednar Band was named Best New Act at the 2024 Muddy Awards and Best Contemporary Blues Act in 2026. The band also won the 2026 Journey to Memphis and will represent the Cascade Blues Association at the 2027 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

The lineup features Oregon native and Berklee College of Music graduate Jeff Langston on bass; 2026 Muddy Award Best Drummer winner Edwin Coleman III; and Pat McDougall on organ and keys, a multi-award-winning artist and songwriter who performs with some of Portland’s most prominent acts.

Andy Moore is a Portland , Oregon based blues singer and harmonica player.

Originally from Tennessee, Andy is a veteran performer of both Memphis’ Beale Street , Lower Broadway in Nashville, and clubs across the South.

Andy has appeared on stage and performed with blues and roots artists such as Rattle Snake Mama, Justin Townes Earle , North Mississippi All Stars, Kivett Bednar Band, Curtis Salgado, Chris Daniels & The Kings, Mitch Kashmar, and many more.

“KC Craine and Tin Compass return to Hoku Events for a special album release concert celebrating their new album, “It’s Not The Destination.”

This will be a special evening of new, all-original music and heartfelt storytelling. Soulful melodies and evocative songs are rooted in the Pacific Northwest and shaped by folk, country, Zydeco and soul.

Tin Compass is difficult to put in a box. Accordion, violin, mandolin, bass, percussion and harmony vocals create a rich and unexpected sound that moves well beyond the usual folk and Americana formula. The result is soulful, distinctive and refreshingly original music with a warm, organic groove.

Come experience KC Craine and Tin Compass!

Teen Uke Sensation from Taiwan:
—-> FENG E !!!

Wednesday, October 7th!
500pm

“Wow! Unbelievable! So good! Oh my god!” - Ellen DeGeneres

“You’re unique, I’ve never, ever, ever heard an act like this!” - Simon Cowell

“People think of the ukulele as a toy, and you turned it into an experience!” - David Foster

at Hoku Events on Madison
1125 SE Madison St
Portland, OR

“About the Event:
Feng E first stunned the world at just ten years old when his mesmerizing ukulele rendition of Tommy Emmanuel’s Classical Gas went viral. Almost overnight, the young prodigy became an international sensation—appearing twice on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and captivating millions more on Asia’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent.

Since those early viral days, Feng E has evolved into one of the most electrifying young artists in the global ukulele scene. His dazzling performances have graced stages across Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, and Hawaii, earning him international awards and headline slots. His groundbreaking 2024 U.S. West Coast tour wowed audiences with show-stopping sets at the Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival, alongside national TV and radio appearances. In 2025, he headlined the Denver International Ukulele Festival and was an official showcase artist and panelist for the New Orleans Folk Alliance conference. He went on to packed houses up and down the East Coast, including the Cutting Room in New York City

With nearly one million YouTube subscribers and countless millions of views, Feng E continues to push boundaries and redefine what the ukulele can do. In 2025, he and his band Resonance Effect captured the top prize at Taiwan’s Taoyuan Iron Rose Hot Sound Awards—their version of Idol.

Now, this teenage virtuoso returns to U.S. stages, ready to captivate audiences once again. Experience the energy, emotion, and pure joy of an artist who’s redefining a generation of music.”
