It was a beautiful late fall afternoon and with the help of our Bishop, our sexton and the sextons and Canon at Trinity Cathedral, we laid to rest the remains of thirty-six souls whose ashes had been stored under the high altar in the sanctuary.

Please join us on December 3 at 5pm for evening prayer, "Secularizing a Consecrated Building," and an enchilada feast prepared by our friends. It will mean the world to us to have a lot of our extended community present.

Hi, friends, those of you who are local may have already heard about the tragic death of Jimmy Fenimore who was killed by a drunk driver 9 days ago. His friends and family are raising funds so that we can hold a memorial service at Saints Peter & Paul next Thursday, November 9 at 3pm. The church is not charging for the memorial (of course!) but those organizing the service want to do something significant to honor Jimmy and support his friends and family. The most urgent piece is the funeral home/cremation cost. Please donate *today* if you can; any amount helps!

Many of you know that there are the cremated remains of several dozen souls in our high altar. Many were deposited decades ago in anticipation of a memorial garden or columbarium being constructed on site at Saints Peter & Paul. We have notified all of the family members we have been able to find and learned their wishes for their loved one's remains. Several have chosen to have their family member's remains taken to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, where the leadership has graciously offered to bury them, along with any unclaimed remains, in their lovely memorial garden. This burial will happen in the afternoon on November 21 (time TBA). If you have a family member's remains in our high altar and have not been in touch with us, please contact the church office at 503-254-8168 by November 17 so that we may learn your wishes.
