I remember exactly where I was on September 11, 2001. I believe I was in 8th grade, sitting in computer class, setting up my computer and learning HTML. Our teacher came in from the room next door and told us to turn the TV to a certain channel. We all sat there and watched.

I remember seeing it happen, but at that age, I don’t think the reality of what we were watching truly hit me the way it does now. We were children watching a moment that would forever change our country become history right in front of us.

Twenty-five years later, I can still picture that classroom. I can still remember that moment. And today, I understand the weight of it in a way my seventh-grade self simply couldn’t.

Remembering the lives lost, the families whose lives changed forever, and the first responders and everyday people who showed extraordinary courage that day. 🇺🇸
