Two strangers joined the same Facebook group that December.

Michelle Ellermets was 50. Her husband of more than 23 years had died in January.

Scott Ellermets was 59. His wife of 29 years had died in June.

He joined the group in early December and noticed that one of the members there was already Facebook friends with his own sister. That member was Michelle. He sent her a message that same week, and she wrote back.

Nine months later the two of them stood barefoot on a beach in the Outer Banks. They said vows in front of their families that neither of them had expected to say a second time in their lives.

The Bellflower (a renovated one room school house) was the setting yesterday for the sweet nuptials of Rachel and Hunter. They were joined by their closest family and friends as they spoke their touching vows to one another. The happy tears were flowing in that moment.
