What others overlook, miniature artists transform. Step into a world of imagination where recycled materials and natural elements are viewed through a completely new lens, revealing hidden textures, hidden shapes and possibilities waiting to be transformed. This immersive workshop invites you to slow down, practice mindfulness, and lose yourself in the mediative joy of creating. With hands-on exploration of new techniques and a collection of unusual materials, discover how to look beyond what something was and envision what it could become. Mix and match parts to create a one-of-a-kind illuminated castle tower that glows with your own creative vision and leave with a renewed way of seeing the potential around you. Skill levels from beginner to advanced. This workshop is tailored by your design choices. No experience need. Only curiosity and willingness to see magic hidden in the overlooked. All supplies provided. Bring tweezers and scissors if you have favorites. Finish size: appx 8”-12” depending on design choices. Photos are reference inspiration, each Castle tower will be unique to the artist, indoor display only.

Come relax and explore miniature watercolor. We will create a lovely landscape of the ocean and assemble a frame made of stained beveled wood. The painting is approximately 1” x 1.4” without the frame. All supplies are provided and you will leave with a framed watercolor painting that you created!

Learn how to make the jewelers' saw work for you. This basic and versatile tool can help every miniaturist create accurate scale miniatures, whether working in metal, wood, plastics, wax, etc. Think deco – styled aluminum door, floor and transom grates, what-not shelf, panel fretwork, decorative screen, frame for stained glass work, and much more. This is a technique and basic skills class in which you will be given various patterns and exercises to execute in various materials while you are learning the basics, as well as tips and tricks for making your experience with the jeweler's saw pleasurable and productive. You are welcome to bring your own additional lighting and magnification, as being able to see what you are sawing is necessary for success.

Inspired by an American antique punch needle rug from circa 1900, this workshop introduces the traditional beauty of punch needle on a miniature scale. The design features a graceful arrangement of stylized flowers, curling leaves, and a decorative central cornucopia, surrounded by a striped border in rich, warm colors. Students will learn how to transfer the design, prepare the foundation fabric, use a miniature punch needle, control the height and direction of the loops, and work neatly around small shapes and fine details. We will also explore ways to trim, brush, and finish the pile to give the completed rug a beautifully defined appearance. This workshop is suitable for students who are new to miniature punch needle, as well as experienced stitchers interested in adapting the technique to dollhouse scale. The finished rug will bring the warmth, character, and charm of an antique American textile to a miniature interior. The kit includes all essential supplies, including fabric, hoop, needles, cotton and/or silk floss, easy to follow instructions, and more. Students are advised to bring their favorite sharp scissors, additional light, and a magnifier, if needed.

Participants will make Spanish lavender, Wind Poppies and Tiny Daisies then arrange them in a rustic wooden crate. All supplies will be provided, including a plastic cube for transporting their finished projects. Participants may wish to bring tweezers, ball stylus and sharp scissors. A battery powered small light is recommended.

​This class is for everyone who wants to better understand how to use their Dremel, or another rotary tool. What to expect from the class: If you have a Dremel that you’ve bought or been gifted and have maybe never even used it, bring it along. We’ll identify it and help you get comfortable with how it works. We’ll introduce you to some of the bewildering range of available accessories, help you decide which ones are appropriate for you and how they can be used in your mini world. An overview of some of the other tools available in the Dremel range, what they are, what they can do and the potential projects you can undertake with them and how you can economically build a quite comprehensive mini power tool workshop. The ultimate objective is to answer any questions you may have, remove some of your anxiety in using these tools, inject a bit of confidence and encourage you to use these amazing tools safely and enjoyably.
