Today was a little (big) dream fulfilled for me. I volunteered at my baby’s school for picture day. This is something I always wanted as a little girl. My little boy was so happy to have his mommy at school. We ate lunch together and the rest of our day was full of so much fun and sweetness. I’m so thankful for these moments. It was such a beautiful day.😭🙌🏼🥹

You guys, today was an amazing day. We took our son to Open House for Kindergarten. It was such a big deal for him. It was a very special day for us all. I’m so excited for him bc it’s Kindergarten and it feels like we’ve arrived at a huge milestone. This is one of the chapters I’ve been waiting for my whole life when I dreamt about becoming a mama. Especially since I used to be a teacher. To see my little baby go into a big kid school is just surreal! And yet, he’s so ready snd we’re ready! So Here we go!!

🤍 my style has changed so much since I began learning this craft. Ive been enjoying the clean, simplicity of classic neutrals and soft dreamy pastels for some time now and i think it’s here to stay. I love the dreamy timelessness it brings. When you look back in 20 years, these images will still be incredible to look back at and reminisce upon. 😉

🤍 I have soooooo many new sessions to share. I’ve been a busy lady this year you guys. I feel so blessed to be able to capture these incredible moments for the families that find me. Today is Library day at our house. It’s become one of my son’s favorite things to do. He loves the entire experience. It’s become a ritual and a privilege for him. He earns this day and works hard for it by completing chores and earning stars ⭐️ on his behavior chart. He gets so excited to explore the computer games and sit with me at the table and create tangram images. He loves playing in the kids area and choosing a new set of books to read. He gets such a thrill out of scanning his books and hearing the beep of the scanner and then he proudly says his goodbyes to the media specialists as he strolls along rolling his suitcase filled with new books to read. It’s become such a special outing for him. He’s become a reader this year and I took these photos as a celebration of it all. 🫶🏻📚🫶🏻

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women I get to work with and call family or friends! It was wonderful to capture so many beautiful families for Mother’s day minis this year! I’ve loved seeing the images show up on my feed and it makes my heart smile when you all tag me too! So glad we got to create such amazing memories to cherish forever for so many spectacular moms with their families! Here’s my little family too! Love them so much and I feel lucky to have them because they are the reason I get to have the honor of the being called, Mom.

I haven’t posted a photo on here in a while. ☺️ with Mother’s Day happening this weekend, I thought I’d share this sweet moment with my boy. So many wonderful things are happening this month and we have just been busy this year. All good things, all good things. One of the good things being our little man graduating from VPK. As a past educator, school and learning is a big deal at our house. I’m so happy to see my son’s love of learning continue to grow. He’s taught me so much about love and life too. I’m blessed to be his mama. We want to wish you all have a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend and we hope you find yourself counting your blessings and feeling the love all around you!

HEALED... My mom passed away 7 years ago today. It was a sudden loss that came unexpectedly. I could go on for days about her vibrant personality and how much I miss her. I could tell you about all the little moments where I've felt her presence nearby when I'm with my son. But, this post isn't to talk about the loss but rather the healing. The day after she passed, I awoke to a strong sense of peace amidst the sadness. If you've ever said goodbye to someone who's lived with any kind of ongoing pain or illness, then you know this peace. While the shock of the loss rocked me at my core, that inner peace kept me steady. Maybe it was God's peace within me? Perhaps it was my mother letting me know she was with God and restored in him? In that first year, one of the things that helped me heal was doing things that brought me that same sense of inner peace. I allowed myself to walk away from a toxic environment at work. I moved to a more peaceful area in Florida (no offense, Miami, I LOVE YOU!) I also took time to write about the things I was thankful for. I feel that last one helped me the most. It's actually a practice I have maintained for the past 7 years. And so today, as I write in my gratitude journal, I wilI remember and celebrate my mother's life. I will give thanks for the profound impact she made in my life and although I still miss her terribly, I will allow myself to feel peace because, I have healed. I'll love you forever and always mommy.

I wish I could share with him the love of the family he never got to meet. Great grandparents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. I wish I could impart the knowledge and flavor of the rich culture and history of where his family has come from. He may never fully understand but I hope that through us and the rest of our family he might attain a glimpse of the great shoulders our families stood upon to get to where we are today. Not sure why I wrote all this but that’s what came to me as I edited this image. ☀️🇨🇺🫶
