Upstage facilitates entertainment & community events on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. For 15 years in Port Townsend and now from Port Angeles, Upstage presented over 5,000 performances and hosted over 30,000 performers. Acts range from blues to jazz, salsa, tango, swing, classical, world music, folk, ethnic ensembles, and entertaining community events.

Richard started playing the guitar at age 5 and has never looked back. Focusing early on with the fingerstyle guitar of Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed, he began transcribing classical music, Jazz, the gypsy style of Django Reinhardt, bluegrass, ragtime and the blues to Sousa marches. In 2018, Richard performed in five continents including performances with and alongside Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel, Albert Lee, Dave Peacock, Martin Taylor, Brent Mason, Gary Brooker, Stuart Duncan, Bryan Sutton, Joe Brown, Ralph McTell and many others
