The Community Development Committee was proud to recognize the 101 Wild West Rodeo as the Nonprofit of the Quarter for the 3rd Quarter of 2025 last Thursday.
A true Ponca City tradition, the 101 Wild West Rodeo has been thrilling crowds since 1959! As one of the longest-running rodeos in Oklahoma, it carries on the legacy of the historic 101 Ranch Wild West Show and celebrates our community’s western heritage.
Each year, the rodeo brings top-tier professional cowboys and cowgirls from across the country to compete in events like bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, and roping, all under the bright lights and big skies of Ponca City. But it’s more than just a rodeo. The event also features a parade, live music, vendors, kids’ events, and a spirit of hospitality that brings locals and visitors together in a celebration of culture and community.
The 101 Wild West Rodeo Committee, made up of dedicated volunteers, works year-round to produce this high-caliber event that supports local businesses, promotes tourism, and preserves a rich and unique piece of Oklahoma history.
Thank you to the 101 Wild West Rodeo for your lasting impact on Ponca City and for keeping the Wild West spirit alive and well!
