"I made myself a promise: I never want to be in leadership."

That was Valentina 7 years ago.

From what she saw at her old restaurant job, being a leader just meant getting stressed out and told to "figure it out on your own." So when she joined our team at 18, she kept her head down in the kitchen. Her black chef coat was her security blanket—she was quiet, shy, and had zero desire to manage people or talk to guests.

Swipe through to see Part 1 of how a Team Member who was too shy to order her own food got past her fears, earned the nickname "Val the Chameleon," and built a 7-year career as an Executive Director at Chick-fil-A Pompano Beach.

Part 2 drops next: How she built a $40,000 catering business and stepped up during a sudden leadership crisis.

Most companies wait until a manager hands in their two-week notice before they even start thinking about who’s next. That leads to panic, rushed promotions, and stressed-out teams. We do things differently at Chick-fil-A Pompano Beach. We’re always asking:

Who is ready to step into a leadership role today?

Who will be ready in six months?

Who will be ready in eighteen months?

That’s why we took our emerging leaders to the Support Center in Atlanta.

We didn’t go just to take pictures in Truett Cathy’s office. We went so our team could truly connect with the heart and purpose behind what they are preparing to lead.

Our job as leaders isn’t to push people or try to convince them they’re capable. It’s to show them we believe in them, step back, and give them the room to rise to the challenge.

We don’t just offer a job here. We invest in people, we build leaders, and we help you create a real future.

If you’re looking for a team that will actually back you up and invest in your growth, we have a seat for you. Tap the link in our bio to apply.

The hardest thing to teach a high-performing leader isn’t how to work harder. It’s how to step away.

In a multi-million-dollar restaurant, the rush never stops unless you intentionally choose to step out of it.

Most companies reward people who can run around putting out fires for eight hours. We reward the leaders who have the discipline to sit down, look at the system, and figure out why the fire started in the first place.

Those 15-minute coffee check-ins aren’t a break from the work. They are the work. That is where we build the next generation of directors, diagnose operational bottlenecks, and get 1% better every single day.

We aren’t looking for managers who just want to survive a shift. We’re looking for builders who want to develop people.

Whether you’re an experienced leader looking for genuine, long-term impact or you’re hungry to learn the craft from the ground up, we have a seat at the table for you.

The best leadership development doesn't happen in a conference room with a slide deck.

Sometimes it happens in a parking lot watching Josiah completely dominate everyone at hula hooping, grabbing late-night cookies in casual clothes, or laughing our way through a two-hour flight delay.

When we took our emerging leaders to Atlanta, our main goal wasn't to lecture them on strategy. It was to take off the work armor, step away from the restaurant floor, and just be human together.

You can’t ask a team to solve big problems if they don't know how to connect outside of a uniform first.

To our leadership team across Chick-fil-A Pompano Beach and Chick-fil-A Deerfield Beach: Efraim and I couldn’t be prouder of who you are, how you show up for each other, and what we are building together.

The plans for 2026 and 2027 are big, but building them with this team is the best part.

The future is bright. 🚀

The world calls it fast food. We treat it like a craft.

When a meal leaves our counter, it’s never just an order being handed over. It’s someone signing their name to the work of their hands.

Swipe through to see the two perspectives we teach our team on the details—and why what you build here goes far beyond a paycheck.

If this resonates with you—if you want to do work with real purpose, make an impact, and learn leadership skills like attention to detail that will serve you for life—we want to meet you.

When you’re running a high-volume restaurant, it’s easy to get buried in the daily rush—drive-thru lines wrapped around the building, huge catering orders, and trying to make sure shifts are covered.

That’s why we took three of our Directors—Josiah, Markee, and Hanna—out of Florida and up to the Chick-fil-A Support Center in Atlanta.

The biggest lesson didn't happen during a big presentation on stage. It happened five minutes before walking inside, when our Operator, Efraim, stopped in the parking lot to help tie their ties.

Swipe through for what this trip taught us about real leadership, stepping back so your team can lead, and what we actually expect from our Directors.

👉 We’re building our team for the long haul. Whether you’re an experienced leader or starting your very first job with a desire to grow, there’s a seat at our table.

What your fall coffee order says about your work style 👇

Ana's current coffee order is the Toasted Marshmallow Cold Brew. Her work style?

Pure energy.

She spots a problem before it even happens, gets the drive-thru moving fast, and has everything running smoothly. Direct, efficient, and always in the middle of the action.

Julianna's is the S’mores Frosted Coffee. Her work style?

The calm in the storm.

She’s helping the newest Team Member through their first lunch rush, making sure people are actually having fun, and keeping a positive attitude when it gets super busy.

Patient, friendly, and keeps everyone grounded.

Two totally different approaches. Both of them crush it every shift.

Drop a ☕ if you work like Ana, or 🍦 if you work like Julianna.

Look at your calendar from last week.

Every single block was for someone else.

If you’re anything like most leaders I talk to, you handle the team, put out the fires, check off the list, and leave yourself with zero percent battery by Friday.

Block out thirty minutes this week.

Eat lunch without staring at your phone, sit in the parking lot with the phone off, take a walk—whatever gives you a second to breathe.

You can't develop anyone else when you're running on empty.

What’s the one window of time you’re protecting this week?
