Booking a venue is indeed very high up on the list of wedding planning tasks, but there are some key things you need to do first:⁠

✅ Set up a wedding budget⁠
✅ Know your estimated guest count⁠
✅ Know your wedding vision⁠
✅ Hire or consult a professional wedding planner⁠

By doing these first you can avoid these common mistakes:⁠

❌ Being 'venue poor' - meaning overspending on a venue and then having to stress and cut corners everywhere else⁠
❌ Having a venue where you can't safely and comfortably fit all your guests with your desired decor set up.⁠
