Have you ever noticed how nature speaks in symbols? 🌿💚 All throughout Just Love Forest, people keep discovering hearts in leaves, in stones, in the curves of tree bark or the way light hits the path just so. These little heart shapes seem to show up exactly when someone needs a reminder: you’re not alone… you’re held… you are love.

In many cultures, symbols like this are known as totems, sacred signs that carry meaning, speak to the soul, and offer guidance or affirmation. A heart totem is a gentle nudge from the forest: return to love, to presence, to connection with yourself and the world around you.

When you visit, keep your eyes open. The forest might have a message just for you.

This weekend at our Community Gathering, we placed our rose quartz in the heart of the meadow, letting it drink in the golden power of the summer solstice sun. 🌞🌸

High in the highlands of Just Love Forest, we basked in the warmth, beauty, and stillness of the season’s peak it was a day to honor light, growth, and the energy we receive from both Earth and sky. 🌿

Crystals, like us, are vessels of energy. Rose quartz, the stone of unconditional love, becomes even more potent when bathed in direct sunlight, absorbing solar rays to awaken its heart-opening magic.

We left the weekend recharged, just like this stone glowing with gratitude, community, and the sacred rhythm of nature. 🌼💗

Hi forest family!

I’m excited to share what’s already been happening at Just Love Forest in 2025.

Below, you’ll find heartfelt reflections and photos from this year’s gatherings, offering a glimpse into the spirit of the forest, whether you’ve joined us before or are still hoping to visit.

We’re now in the final 10 days of our 30-day Spring Equinox fundraiser. Twice each year around the spring and fall equinox, we invite you to support this living, breathing forest sanctuary by becoming a member, making a donation or ordering one of our limited-edition, community-designed tees.

What if healing our world begins with remembering you are nature?

Not separate. Not superior. Simply a little and essential part of … nature.

This is the soul of Just Love Forest - 716 acres of protected land where we return to what was never truly lost: our deep and wild belonging.

So far this year, we’ve gathered in grief and joy. We’ve sung around fires, built solar systems with our bare hands, sat in stillness beneath the trees, and remembered together what it means to be connected to the earth.

We believe every crisis - personal, cultural, ecological - is at its root a crisis of disconnection.

This disconnection stems from a loss of our tribal interdependence, directly supporting each other’s wellbeing.

And through presence, play and heartfelt connection, we begin to heal.

Our founding roots grow from the Bhakti yoga tradition of unconditional love, inspired by Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba, yet our circle is wide. All paths are welcome. All beings are welcome. Because nature welcomes everything.

Each month, our Community Weekends open the gates to meditation, shared service, sound & song, experiencing shinrin-yoku forest therapy and touring our green burial grounds. These gatherings are the heartbeat of our community - accessible, meaningful, and grounded in love.

And our retreats? They are all co-created with our talented community and friends:

Whether exploring joy, intimacy, silence, grief, native plants and mushrooms, breath or movement - each retreat is a reminder of what’s sacred within and around us.

We’re not a nonprofit but we are deeply committed to accessibility.

Our pricing is intentionally lower than most retreat centers because reconnection to nature should never be a luxury.

And whenever we’re able, we offer generous financial assistance to help make our gatherings even more accessible. We believe that healing, community, and belonging are birthrights, not privileges.

For these final 10 days of our Spring Equinox membership drive, we’re offering a chance to support this work through a donation, membership, or by purchasing one of our limited-edition tees, all designed by members of the community.

The Forest Way of Remembering

• This body is yours. Be kind to it.
• Life teaches. Every day.
• Mistakes grow things.
• What repeats needs love.
• There’s always more to learn.
• Be where your feet are.
• Every other being is a mirror.
• Your thoughts shape your trail.
• The answers are already in you.
• You will forget.
• You can always remember.

And just like that… the baby ferns begin to rise.
Coiled in silence all winter, now they hear the sun’s gentle calling. Part of the wild reawakening.

Each frond, a delicate spiral, unrolling in perfect time.
The forest remembers. The earth breathes. And we—if we’re listening—are invited to awaken too.

No rush. No force. Just being. Becoming. Belonging.
Spring is not a season, it’s a state of the soul.

Welcome back, lil ferns. The green path is opening.

Honoring Serpentfoot.
Poet. Sage. Cosmic trickster. Awakened medicine woman who lived in a teepee. A matriarch of Just Love Forest before we ever called it that.

As part of my spiritual journey, I was drawn to this land—unaware that Serpentfoot and her community had already gathered here before us, remembering the truth: we are nature. Six months later, I learned of her legacy. She soon became a friend and visited many times, offering poetry and presence. We read to her, and she read to us.

Founder of Our Greater Self Co-op and the visionary spirit behind Poetry, Georgia, Serpentfoot lived a life of authenticity, humor, and soul.

She left her body last Tuesday. We’ll be creating a memorial atop one of our mountaintops and continuing her tradition of gathering for poetry with her in nature. Stay tuned.

May we all remember:
We are just a little piece of nature.

Here is my first time meeting her if you’d like to hear her story in her own words: https://creators.spotify.com/pod/show/just-love-poetry

Thank you for your cosmic vision. We shall carry on its traditions and legends. Here is one of her poems:

Poetry, GA
Beside a hidden highway this place hovers,
christened by a wild woman who worships God naked.
She is a nuisance to governments who do not comprehend her language.
No lots for sale, here, no city limit signs to tell entrances and exits.
A scattering of abandoned houses chant endless stories from dark interiors.
A country store sells tickets for the lottery of dreams.
Its computer hums the future and snickers at the odds.
Unnamed roads radiate into rolling hills, crooked spokes that create their own destinations.
Down a dirt path an eternal swamp emerges from the beginning of time, gives birth to the beauty of blooms that die and rot and bloom again.
I have traveled through Poetry yet cannot mark its boundaries.
Perhaps like mythical Avalon it exists only when you are there; this place,
christened by a wild woman who worships God naked.

Just love always, 🩵🙏🏼

The Dogwoods Are Blooming at Just Love.

In the quiet hush of early spring, the Kanu-ga, the Cherokee name for dogwood- unfolds its soft white blossoms across the forest. Like a gentle offering, these blooms seem to float in the air, suspended between earth and sky, as if the land itself is whispering a prayer.

To the Cherokee people, Kanu-ga was more than just a tree. It was a companion, a helper, a healer. Its strong wood shaped arrows and tools; its bark was brewed to ease fevers and pain. And now, as its blossoms return each spring, it reminds us of the wisdom the Cherokee have always known: everything in nature has a purpose, a medicine, and a spirit worth honoring.

Here at Just Love, we walk among these blooming dogwoods with reverence. They speak to us of resilience, the strength to endure the long winter and of renewal, as life begins again. Their cross-shaped petals have inspired many stories, but their truest message is simple: to soften, to open, and to offer our gifts back to the world.

If you find yourself beneath their branches, may you pause and listen. You may hear the old songs carried on the wind. You may feel the gentle blessing of Kanu-ga, asking you to remember that you are part of this great cycle of life.

The forest is blooming. And so are we.

Just Love. Just Bloom. Just Be.
