Brent is a native of Northeast Arkansas and has always had an eye for design, whether it was hosting gatherings, curating events for friends and famil
y or creating a beautifully designed space in his own home. Moving away from NEA in 2007 he later pursued a career with a private Real Estate firm in Las Vegas, NV. This is where Brent soon realized a deeper passion for event planning and design. He was drawn to architectural designs and spaces that were often eloquently decorated and staged by high end designers. Brent also attended small to large scale events throughout Las Vegas. Brent then knew that he wanted to take the steps to begin a professional career in the event and design industry. He took that step and in 2013 he graduated from The International School of Hospitality with a certificate in Event Planning & Conference Management. Brent’s education encompassed various internships that allowed him to shadow and assist prestigious wedding and event planners. He completed several mentorship programs in luxury hotels located on Las Vegas Boulevard. After graduating TISOH, Brent continued working in the Real Estate industry which allowed flexibility to continue pursuing and gaining experience in events and design. Over the years he would often travel back to NEA to plan, coordinate and design a series of weddings for clients and friends. Venues included The James Ranch, The Silos & Stan Jones Mallard Lodge. In 2017 he relocated to Los Angeles, CA and continued work with a luxury Real Estate team in the Hollywood Hills. From there he was captivated by the culture and diversity of a higher level of luxury events and design. This was the turning point in Brent’s career where he knew he wanted to put his dream into action and soon develop his own event and design company back in his home state of Arkansas. In early 2019, still living in Los Angeles, Brent took a position as Director of Operations for a private hotel investment firm traveling the U.S. and overseeing the rehabilitation and redesign of hotels. This position allowed him to live anywhere in the U.S. and in late 2019 he took that opportunity to become one step closer to his dream and purchased his first home in NEA. In 2020, Brent was contacted by owners of a new wedding and event venue in NEA, The Plantation Venue. He was offered the opportunity to assist with operations and become a preferred wedding designer and coordinator for the venue. From there, Brent’s career in wedding and events began to grow even more where he has since coordinated, assisted and designed multiple weddings and events. Brent’s recent involvement in coordinating and designing has boosted his clientele. He felt this was the time to launch his business, Murphy Design Co. The company will specialize in event and home design and soon he will be occupying a full retail design studio featuring event merchandise and home decor opening March 2021. will specialize in personalizing diverse events and designs for each client; handling tasks and situations with grace taking the stress off of the client.
