Built in the 1940's, Karl's Cabin is historic log cabin roadhouse restaurant and banquet facility. Our family owned and operated restaurant specializes in comfort food classics. Our staff, the heartbeat of our restaurant, will always greet you with a friendly smile and take the extra steps to WOW you. Our Chef's take great pride in using the freshest locally sourced products whenever available. W

e have 18 rotating craft beers on draft with a full list a boutique wines and craft cocktails that change with the seasons. We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner with two dining rooms, two spacious areas for outdoor seating and a beautiful bar to sit at. 🥩 Prime Rib Tuesdays Return September 15 🍂✨

Prime Rib Tuesdays are back at Karl’s Cabin beginning September 15, running for 12 weeks through November 24. This season’s prime rib features our Creekstone Farms Black Angus — slow‑roasted, tender, carved to order, and served with all the classic accompaniments that make Tuesday nights feel a little more special.

As we move from late summer into early fall, this weekly tradition is the perfect way to ease into the season. 🎶 A Legendary Afternoon at the Cabin 🤠✨

On August 26, 1956, Johnny Cash rolled through Detroit after a show in Toronto and played a matinee right here at the cabin — then known as Rusceak’s Rustic Tavern. The same stage at the north end of our restaurant still stands today, the very spot where Johnny and The Tennessee Two filled the room with early hits like “Cry, Cry, Cry,” “Hey Porter!,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “I Walk the Line.”

Just weeks earlier, Johnny had met June Carter at the Grand Ole Opry, and sparks were already flying. Before the show, he spent over an hour in our lobby phone booth talking to her — friends later said he was completely taken, pouring his heart out between cigarette breaks and soundcheck.

Soon after that afternoon, his career exploded. He joined Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins as part of the Million Dollar Quartet, and appeared on The Jackie Gleason Show in early 1957.

To honor the Man in Black, we created the Johnny Cash Special — creamy mac & cheese, crispy buttermilk fried chicken, and bold, zesty chili. It’s not on the menu, but it’s a secret item we keep in tribute to Johnny. Just ask for it by name.
