DOM FLEMONS – The American Songster
Grammy Award-winner and founding member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Dom Flemons is a singular voice in American folk and Black roots music. A gifted storyteller, historian, poet, and cultural curator, his critically acclaimed solo albums—Black Cowboys and Traveling Wildfire (Smithsonian Folkways)—have earned Grammy nominations and spotlighted African American contributions to American music. Flemons is one of the most respected and decorated figures in American roots music today.
DYLAN TRIPLETT BAND – Soul-Blues Rising Star
Winner of the 2024 Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist Album, Dylan Triplett is a powerhouse vocalist from East St. Louis whose dynamic range and magnetic stage presence have drawn comparisons to Luther Vandross and James Brown. Backed by a stellar band, his live performances fuse deep soul, blues, and unfiltered joy.

Plattsburgh Blues & Jazz is bringing you a powerful Juneteenth double concert on June 19th at the Strand Theater featuring Grammy Award-winner Dom Flemons and Blues Music Award-winner Dylan Triplett & his Band! From deep-rooted Black string and country traditions to funky, soul-drenched grooves—it’s a night of history, heart, and heat. We then have our big, epic summer party at John Homer's House on the shores of Lake Champlain, featuring Johnny Rawls, Dave Keller and his band, and Dawn Tyler Watson and the Ben Racine Band, and a late night jam with Hang Tight. Plus the usual shebang of food and hospitality. This is on Saturday July 5th and friends, family and patrons of Plattsburgh Blues and Jazz are invited for this big bash.
