🇺🇸 Labor Day isn’t just a holiday, it’s a roll call for the people who keep this parish running even when the heat index is 112°, the coffee is burnt, and the only thing holding their day together is stubbornness and a prayer.
Today we honor every laborer in Iberville Parish:
The welders, plant crews, and the farmers. The refinery warriors, the teachers, and shift workers. The cooks, cleaners, clerks, and caretakers. The folks who work nights, weekends, holidays, and “just come help real quick” emergencies, and especially the volunteers who show up even when they’re dead tired
Y’all are the backbone of this parish — sweaty, gritty, determined, and absolutely unstoppable.
🚑A Special Shoutout to EMS
The angels in cargo pants. The ones who deal with everything from heatstroke to “my cousin dared me” injuries. The patience y’all have? Supernatural, heavenly, and possibly medically prescribed.
🚓Law Enforcement
We appreciate y’all, truly. You keep the peace, handle the nonsense, and somehow stay calm while listening to stories that start with: “Okay so what had happened was…” You deserve hazard pay just for the explanations alone.
🚒 Firefighters
Sweaty, stubborn, and convinced every emergency is a competition they intend to win. Running into burning buildings like it’s a sport and bragging about it for the next six months.
And yes we know firefighters and cops both save lives… we just do it louder, sweatier, and with parking skills that make us look like the heroes in every scene.
🔥To ALL First Responders:
You work when everyone else is grilling. You work when everyone else is relaxing. You work when everyone else is pretending they’re “finally taking a day off.” You show up when people are scared, hurt, confused, or doing something they absolutely should not have done.
You keep this parish standing. You keep families whole. You keep chaos from turning into catastrophe. We honor you today; loudly, proudly, and with the kind of appreciation that is bondless.
❤️Happy Labor Day from IFFA
To the workers, the responders, the volunteers, the shift warriors, the ones who don’t get days off, you’re the heartbeat of Iberville Parish. Rest if you can. Work if you must. Laugh because it’s survival.
And remember: Firefighters and cops may tease each other…
but EMS & dispatch are watching all of us like exhausted parents.
