🔥 THE DJ IS NOT THE SOUND ENGINEER WELL NOT THIS TIME (AND NO, I’M NOT HANDING YOU THE MIC) 🔥
With respect in the comments…
The DJ is not the event’s sound engineer.
And no, the DJ is not obligated to give a microphone to everyone who shows up unannounced.
When they show up:
• batucada groups
• outside hype/MCs
• musicians who “just want to play one song”
• people who “just want to say something real quick”
👉 no rider
👉 no soundcheck
👉 no prior production coordination
The risk isn’t on them.
The risk is on the DJ and their equipment.
If there’s feedback, if the system goes down, if something gets damaged…
Who takes the heat?
Spoiler: not the person who asked for the mic.
This isn’t ego.
It’s not bad attitude.
It’s not a lack of collaboration.
👉 It’s professional responsibility.
The uncomfortable question is this:
Where does good faith end… and where does operational chaos begin?
We speak plainly here.
If you disagree, argue from experience, not emotion.
