We’re so excited to announce a new project that we’ve been working on behind the scenes: Pre Shift! 

✨Pre Shift is a burgeoning community for the Pittsburgh Hospitality Industry, focusing on networking, education, and relationships through curated events ✨

Our vision is to help facilitate and contribute to the growth of the hospitality industry by facilitating events that focus on professional development, education/information sharing, and addressing hospitality issues of our current moment and beyond. There is no barrier for entry, or membership required. Pre Shift has been designed to integrate casually into busy schedules and to connect the community.

YOU are c•o•r•d•i•a•l•l•y invited to join us for our inaugural Pre Shift event, “SOFT OPENING” - a laid-back but intentional networking event for hospitality [and adjacent] professionals. Think professional development, but a vibe…good drinks, good music, great conversation, and leaving with better connections and community. 

• Monday, March 16th
• 4-7 pm
• @ Field Day in Lawrenceville

This event is open to public and for EVERYONE. FOH/BOH, Sales Reps, Brand Ambassadors, Vendors, Sommeliers, Business Owners, Hospitality Entrepreneurs, DJ’s, Trivia Hosts, Event Coordinators, Social Media Content Creators, and ESPECIALLY anyone that is aspiring to be any of these things and grow their career and network. 

During the course of the evening, we’ll be sharing our mission statement, discussing our vision for the future and looking to collect feedback and engage the conversations with YOU on what you all would love to see from this project. While there is an intentional vision of this project it is very important to us that it benefits the community and grows organically with the community and while we have a plethora of ideas for events, we want to fill the calendar collaboratively so that our events are truly fulfilling the need/and or bridging an existing gap.

Last week, & of & sat down with from the and shared their views on the new reality of the hospitality industry.

—Full-service restaurants require more significant investment in labor and more staff in general. And that’s a challenge with so many new or newer hospitality industry employees.

“It’s completely from the ground up. You’re starting from the basics in a lot of places, especially new ones. So you have to put a pretty big focus on getting back to technique and consistency,” says Usher, co-owner of St. Clair Social and Mindful Hospitality.

“Training takes time and means slowing down. And that’s the last thing people want to do after not being at full capacity for two years and still dealing with fluctuating food costs,” he adds. —

If there’s anything we know how to do it’s get things poppin on a Monday!

This past Monday we celebrated the announcement of Singani being declared it’s own spirit category [‼️] with TWO events. We had an awesome squad join us at Arsenal Lanes where the top two scorers won Steven Soderberg autographed bowling jerseys. Then we had little late night party with a Singani Cocktail Menu takeover and SLAYING with the vibes.

Thanks to everyone who came out! As always, we had a blast sipping on the National Spirit of Bolivia with you!
