It has been just over four years since I've last done an update on here. If you're still around, and you don't follow my personal page, I suppose it's going to be a bit of a surprise to see a post pop up seemingly out of nowhere.

Well, I still exist and have been doing what I can to further grow and expand in my field. That said, I actually rarely do photography these days. Now, it's more about video production, from camera operations, Technical Directing, show calling, LED Wall programming and installations, projection mapping, and more.

My primary base of operations is Washington DC and I'm running out of venues that I *haven't* worked out of. While I started off the first few years working with one specific company, I have now branched out to working with multiple companies on an as-needed freelance basis. By doing this, I can be significantly more flexible and create far more opportunities to gain new experiences and skills. This also helps me branch out into a secondary skillset, namely Lighting Design, something I've been strongly interested in for many years and only more recently have been able to expand with.

To date, it's easy to say I've worked several hundred events of widely different varieties. These endeavors have covered video production aspects such as transmitting wireless video onto boats, projection mapping the sides of Smithsonian buildings, and working behind the scenes of productions for gaming companies. It has been quite a wild trip these past few years.

Pictures tell a thousand words, however, and it will be difficult for me to summarize the past several years without risking writing a novel, so I'm attaching a series of photos that best showcase the video (and lighting) productions I have worked on.

(Maybe in due time I'll create a proper folder to showcase and detail all of the productions)

But yes, I'm still alive out here. Hopefully it won't be another four years until my next big update.

I'm still around, just not as much as usual.

Yesterday I checked out an Antares rocket launch at the Wallops launch facility in Maryland. Got some photos and a video out of the deal.

Camera didn't pan with the rocket as I was instead focusing on getting photos. The audio was synced with the visuals so the 2 mile delay is not present.

So it's been awhile since I've done a real, full update hasn't it?

The day job and lack of freelance work in the D.C. area has kept me from working shows much like I used to do in Pittsburgh. While I still go back to Pitt for the occasional show, most of my duties focus on the day job. It's allowing me to advance my skills well beyond photography and focus more on event production as a whole, be it lighting, rigging, audio, or video.

One of the most recent large productions I was a part of on a variety of angles was a performance at MAGFest by the Tiberian Sons. While they were not the only performance there, it's the only one that got officially remastered from the event and showcases the event as a whole the best.

This was also the first time at MAGFest I was part of the stage crew, helping to build the stage used in this performance. I hopped around where needed, and assisted primarily with lighting and assembly of the LED Wall, then focused on the MAGFest side of things being the Video Director during this performance.

This is where I am now and where my focus lies and why I haven't been heard from much. It's tough to do freelance anymore when I believe my skills are now above what I was able to bring to the table previously. I really having opportunites to shine to the best of my abilities. NeverWake's "Suffocate" video was the first real inclination of that back in Pittsburgh, and now I think this Tiberian Sons video is the next phase. While I'm not downplaying all the other events I've done, I'm starting to be more in my true element. I'm excited for what could possibly be next.

Ok, so, Look Out Lincoln.

They need way more likes.

A cover band, hitting up many of your 90's/2000's favorites, but with so. Much. Energy.

That's the art of it sometimes behind music, just having fun with it. They certainly are.

I'll have some video of them up in the coming days so you can check them out. Otherwise, if you're in the D.C. area, keep an eye for their next gig. :D

I've been quiet here as of late because there has been a TON of changes in my life recently.

I will be officially moving out of Pittsburgh tomorrow (2-22).

I'm not entirely sure what to say, really. This has been in the workings for the past few months and my hand has been forced. A variety of factors are in play here that are tough to go into details over.

I'll be heading down towards Washington D.C., living South of the city. I'm pursuing new opportunities there specifically in Video Broadcasting and also working my skills with Photography in the Baltimore Music Scene. I will also try to open up opportunities with venues in the area for bands in the Pittsburgh area to maybe come down to if they're interested.

Again, I don't have words to fully express what Pittsburgh and it's scene has meant for me. The skills, the connections, and most importantly the friends I have made are just incredibly amazing. I can't even pick out any one group that I want to shout out because pretty much all of you have been awesome in one way or another. Just know that if you're reading this (and, to be fair, if I know you personally), you've helped me define a completely new chapter in my life that I couldn't even imagine would've been possible.

In my time in Pittsburgh, I have helped produce three music videos and covered over 200 unique bands that performed in the area. This equates to literally tens of thousands of photos and hundreds of hours of video. Many of you took a leap of faith on me when I had nothing and it was every fiber of my well being for me to prove myself to all of you. I always felt that I needed to do that, to prove myself, and just keep getting better.

I will still make it a point to return for big events. Weekend events, charity shows, or just your "Big show of the year", I will do what I can to make it back to cover those. Driving six hours back to visit all you peeps and be honored to cover your events again is NOT an issue.... provided whatever day-job I get allows it ;)

Lastly, I am not leaving you in empty hands. I would like you to direct your attention to First Angel Media. And look at that: Double the likes I have on my page :P . But for reals, she's an up and comer you DON'T want to pass on. I've taken her under my wing some time ago and have passed on as much knowledge I can (And will still continue to do so!). You need a show covered? Go to this page. You won't regret it.

'Til next time, peeps.
