My millennial brain is currently full and not accepting any new numbers.

If you sang along to this song, this event is for you. Relive our party era with dancing, delicious college style food, and drinking games but without the sticky floors and creepy dudes.

Book the babysitter. Start stretching now so you can party like it’s 2008 and still be in bed earlier than the pregame used to start.

Wednesday July 8th
The Art Room
6pm - 10pm

Ticket info coming soon.

Before our wedding season kicks off next week, I thought I’d do a little reintroduction. (read: I have new photos of myself that I like)

I’m Anita, owner of Half Light Events.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I’m a physician specializing in geriatrics. My work has always centered around people, especially their stories, their families, and the moments that matter most.

Half Light Events grew from that same instinct. We plan and design celebrations that feel deeply personal to you and your guests can feel it.

My approach is equal parts thoughtful design and steady ex*****on. I’m especially drawn to multi-day and multicultural celebrations layered with tradition and meaning.

Our guiding principles:
– guest experience as much as aesthetics
– thoughtful details over excess
– honoring tradition while making space for what feels true to you

If you’re planning something meaningful and want it to feel elevated without losing its soul, you’re in the right place.

Let’s make something unforgettable.

Oh—this is what I mean when I say I trust my vendor partners.

I design everything from scratch and make sure you love it first. Then I hand off the vision, and they execute it exactly as planned. Every detail. Every time.

“Our venue has a coordinator, so we don’t need a planner.”

This is one of the most common misunderstandings in events.

A venue coordinator works for the venue.
A planner works for you.

A venue coordinator’s job is to manage the space. They make sure the room is set correctly, the venue staff is scheduled, and their policies are followed.

A planner’s job is to manage the entire experience.

That means:
• building and managing your vendor team
• designing the event
• creating and running the timeline
• solving problems before you even know they existed
• coordinating logistics between vendors who have never worked together before
• advocating for you when decisions need to be made quickly
• protecting the flow, the design, and the guest experience

Think of it this way:
Your venue coordinator makes sure the venue runs smoothly.
Your planner makes sure your event runs smoothly.

Both roles are valuable.
But they’re not the same job.

And the most seamless events always have both.

I would love to show you a curated video full of beautiful clips and tablescapes and colors…but the truth is my planning and design process looks like this. Like the main character of “a beautiful mind” sitting in pajamas, staring into space, imagining possibilities, mentally running show, walking through spaces, thinking of what’s missing or what things might feel like. This is actually what it looks like before it comes together for those picture perfect videos and photos. In this particular clip, I’m walking through a baby shower as a guest and noticing which way I’m turning to look for utensils. I have no idea if other designers process looks like this but welcome to my brain!

You’re still allowed to celebrate with your friends without making it a whole damn production btw

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good, unique and immersive design but...who is seeing this view other than wedding industry people on socials?

I’m actually slightly more dramatic
