You hired us for our experience, expertise, and industry knowledge—and sometimes that means telling you what you *need* to hear, not just what you *want* to hear.

The truth is, no two weddings are the same. What works beautifully for one couple may not make sense for yours. That individuality is exactly what makes your wedding special.

So if I tell you five speeches are too many, there isn’t enough time for all those photos, those flowers won’t survive the heat, or any of the other things you’d rather not hear… it’s because I’m looking out for your day.

So many of you have had the privilege of having Shelby as your DOC and this year you’ll be seeing ALOT more of her. From traveling the world as a flight attendant and managing thousands of passengers, to navigating the intricate and chaotic world of weddings, she’s been imperative to the beautiful ex*****on for so many of our couples.
I can’t imagine where I would be today without the unconditional support and hard work that she puts into each and every event💖

Why investing in the RIGHT photographer is important (unsolicited advice from your wedding planner💋)
⬇️⬇️⬇️

1. You’re picking someone to follow you with a camera on one of the biggest and most INTIMATE days of your life - you should be able to be yourself 100% of the time around them.
2. Yes staged portraits are chic and great photos for the scrapbook, but what’s better? Those little moments. The slip of a tissue, catching you mid belly laugh, a shared moment together when it seems like you’re in your own little world.
3. Quality. Quality. Quality. Finding someone with a consistent style that matches your vibe. You don’t need a photographer that can “do it all” and do what you ask. You need a photographer who is confident in their style and the magic they create, and having that match the vision you want for your wedding day.
4. PLEASE listen to your planner. They’re going to recommend photographers they have vetted, understand their process, matching your vision to their work, and know that they pass the vibe check.

It is so easy in the social media era to get lost in the “do it for the ‘gram” photos and booking the wrong person just because they create an aesthetic feed. Set up the call. Read the reviews. Ask for full galleries, not the highlight reels. And ask for recs from your other vendors. This is one of the most important days of your life, investing in the right people is an investment in your future memories. 🩵

tbh when followed me around for the day, I was nervous about my “stage presence” and being on the entire day - then I remembered that my couples hire ME for ME, which is guaranteed to be an authentic experience with sarcasm, attitude, and a few swear words thrown in to get the job done 💅🏼

Katie + Greg | 10.11.25
🪩🌼🕯️🪞💖

When I reflect back on my 2025 season, the word that comes to mind is AUTHENTIC - from the beautiful clients and their loved ones, to the thoughtful design and connection. One of my absolute favorite weekends was spent with Katie and Greg in their hometown of Ridgway. Aspects of their day that truly brought me to tears:
1. Getting ready in their childhood neighboring homes, surrounded by decades of love and memories.
2. Getting married I their back yard and hosting the party of the century.
3. A fully thrifted and homemade wedding design from vintage glassware for each guest to keep, an eclectic combination of candles and candlesticks, and most impressively - A HOMEMADE DANCE FLOOR.
4. Thrifted antique brooches in lieu of boutonnières.
5. Having our best buddy, Basil, around for the entire shindig 🐾
6. The fact that I was getting coffee in town that morning and the woman serving me said “oh you must be here for the wedding - bless that sweet couple!”

Every inch of this property was used to celebrate the love of Katie and Greg, and every guest in attendance had one goal in mind - get them married and party like it was our last night on earth!

I can say and post a million more things from this special day (& I will, don’t worry!) But for now, this will do😌
