There is something in the water (or coaching) over in Hughes Springs, their ladies powerlifting team is a force to be reckoned with, full of physically and mentally strong ladies.
Lifting in honor of Kinsler Roach, Grace Trees is our next confirmed lifter.
When you see them lift Saturday at the 5th Annual Lifting the Stigma powerlifting meet you will see a team that understands that we are stronger when we work together, and you will see a team that is committed to ending the stigma associated with su***de and mental health issues. Some caller her Stacy, some call her Bama, some call her the BITW - me, I call her my adopted daughter.

To know Stacy is to know pure love and joy, and anyone that knows her knows that she is passionate about mental health issues; having been very transparent about some of her own struggles.

If you know her, you also know that she loves to help, she loves to give, and she loves to give back - she gives more to the community than she ever takes. When I asked her and Jessica Galler about coming and helping with the 5th Annual Lifting the Stigma there was zero hesitation- she said “put me on a plane and I am there.”
The selfish side of me wants to keep Stacy to myself for the weekend, but there is way too much love and joy in her to keep bottled up, and she is way too stubborn for me to be able to keep her from helping literally everyone. (She sure does make her adopted dad proud!)
So we are proud, and grateful to announce that the BITW will be at Lifting the Stigma all weekend helping out in any way needed, while helping us raise money and awareness for su***de prevention.
Together we can on su***de.

A few days ago I posted from my personal page looking for new ideas for lifter awards - specifically female lifter awards. Within minutes Sheri Brown DiMaggio with SOJO Clothing Co. messaged and said she would donate 10 crewneck sweatshirts.
I have known Sheri for years, but honestly never thought to tag her in any of the posts about Lifting the Stigma until after Jess did her mental health walk in Mt Pleasant. It truly goes to show that the topics of su***de and mental health issues effect more people than we realize.
Sheri has always supported community efforts in and around Mt Pleasant, and we are so thankful that she is helping us with the 5th Annual Lifting the Stigma benefiting the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention - North Texas Chapter.
10 of our female lifters will walk away with custom crewneck sweatshirts for their efforts on the platform!
Thank you Sheri and SOJO Clothing Co. for helping us lift the stigma on su***de!

Today is the last day to sign up for the 5th Annual Lifting the Stigma powerlifting meet without a late fee. After 8pm today, a late fee will be added to all registrations.
Additionally, if you are a female and wanting to lift, you really need to sign up ASAP - there are only 6 spots left for Day 1 lifting. This meet will cap.
I don’t mind you paying a late fee - the money still goes to charity, but you could also save that money and buy some raffle tickets for 1 of our great raffles - that money goes to charity as well.
All proceeds from this meet go directly to su***de prevention in the North Texas Area. Together we can on su***de and mental health issues.
If you are in crisis, please call or text 988

Have you ever met someone who does not let society or social norms define who they are? If not, it is time you meet our next lifter, Deborah Wilson. At about the age of 68, Debbie decided she wanted to take up powerlifting, and 6 years later she has not slowed down. On meet day, Debbie will be 71 years older than our youngest lifter.
This will be Debbie’s 3rd lifting the stigma powerlifting meet, lifting in honor of Tim “the corndog man” McKinney.
Have you ever considered powerlifting? Let Debbie be an inspiration and go ahead and get started today!

We are exactly 5 weeks away from the 5th Annual Lifting the Stigma powerlifting meet benefiting the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention - North Texas Chapter.
We are excited to remind you that Jessica Galler will be here to capture all of the memories of the meet for you. Photos will be available to purchase for individual downloads, as well as album downloads with all money going directly to the AFSP.
If you want to make sure that Jessica captures your lifts, you can reach out to her on her IG _j.diesel or I can get you in touch with her.
Go over to her website and check out her work there - as an athlete herself, there is no doubt she knows how to capture the emotion of the moment. If it is just you, or your whole family competing, Jess will capture the day for you at a very reasonable price - then give it all back to charity!
